1948 Willys Overland CJ2A Jeep
Description
1948 Willys Overland CJ2A Civilian Jeep
This is a great old Jeep with a beautiful hard earn patina. This Jeep spent it's life on Arkansas and Missouri farms earning it stripes (scratches, dings, etc.) working hard! You just can't fake a look like this, it has to be earned. When I bought it from a friend off of his farm I had intentions of restoring it to perfect condition, but after repairing most of the deficient components It just looked too right! Everyone that saw it thought the same way, "It has the perfect barn find look". It has never been restored, only a farm "brush" paint job years ago! It is an original RED Jeep (the original red is darker than the color now, the original color is pictured on the bottom of the hood)
Here is a list of all of the new parts that I installed within the last four years:
New Goodyear Wrangler tires on freshly sandblasted and powder coated wheels
Replaced original worn out axles with excellent M38A1 military axles
Disc brake conversion (you can actually stop this Jeep!)
New front leaf springs and new shackles were needed
New brake master cylinder
New rear wheel cylinders
New brake hoses all around
Complete new exhaust system from manifold to tail pipe
New hand brake cable
New reproduction seat upholstery and seal foam
New rear seat frame
New seat belts for all four seats
New fuel and and sending unit
New front bumper
New steering wheel
New starter drive
All of the gauges work
Oil and filter changed within the last 100 miles
Converted to 12V with Delco alternator
Spark plugs and wires replaced
Superwinch lockout hubs
The 4WD works great in Hi and Low range
It has its ORIGINAL ENGINE (titled on the engine number, which was common in the day)
It does pop out of 2nd gear on deceleration (unless you hold it in)
It runs and drives good (for a 70 year old Jeep)
Sold as is, where is, no warranty expressed or implied.
