1946 Willys CJ2A Serial #69583
Description
Unrestored, unmolested, ready to be restored or just use as is.6 volt system, mostly original wiring. Springs and shackles in good shape. Frame appears very good with no cracks, good and straight. Runs, drives, brakes good, steers good, new battery. Rims on ground, I believe to be the originals. I stripped all the layers of paint off the wheels and shot them with gloss white. The original color of the rims was red. The 6.50-16 tires on it when I got it were shot. Had an older set of 7.00-16 military tread coopers installed on the rims with new tubes. Driver and passenger floor pans have some rust holes, hat channels have rust. Bottom of tool bin has plywood, suspect it was rusted out and replaced. Rust spots in bed is only surface rust. I have two other CJ2As that I'm working on for my wife and I. Planning on varying a little from stock on those, but this one is bone stock and still in good shape. (Also need to get rid of the temptation to pilfer parts for the other two projects!) Would be great for someone wanting to totally restore it as it's pretty much all there. Oh Yeah, did I mention it even has the original rear PTO with shifter between the seats for powering implements! The only thing I've noticed missing is the emergency brake assembly on the drive shaft. This Willys was in the same family since 1953 and mostly used on the farm here in the San Luis Valley in Colorado. Previous owner told me his dad had rebuilt the motor before his death and that there wasn't many miles put on it since. It has lived in my shop with the other two and will reside there until a new owner appears. A clean title and bill of sale will be provided with purchase. This Jeep is being sold AS-IS local pick-up only. I can assist with loading when you arrive.
