Description

This is a full custom build of one of the most unique designs of the 1930s. So we know you're going to be checking out everything from the metallic flames in the paint, to the powerful stroker V8 under the hood. But we already know it's this total package offered at an obtainable price that really has you hooked. Willys are a coveted classic because they had the sleekest design of the era. So they make awesome custom... street machines. While most of the examples you see out there are fiberglass, this is a genuine steel-bodied car. The original sheetmetal was chopped three-inches by professional builder Frank Rondinelli. Then he shaved the trim to really bring out the extra sleek design that looked positively futuristic when it debuted in 1937. Plus, the frenched headlights, antennas, and license plate panel add to this slick look. You'll even love the details like the sport mirrors, rear lights hidden behind louvers, bright front bumper forks, and even brighter alloys. Of course, what really attracts the crowds is the paintwork. The slick black provides a nice backdrop for the full flame package that burns a metallic blue, purple, and orange as it fades away down the side of the body. Open the door to a full custom interior. There are two leather buckets up front that have modern bolstering and enough padding for all-day comfort. There are some nice upgrades like power windows. But this custom classic is absolutely a driver's machine. You get a grippy sports steering wheel on a tilt column, B&M lock-out shifter, and a dash full of AutoMeter Phantom gauges. You'll happily pop the hood wherever you park this custom classic, because it was built to show off. A ton was invested in polished components and a bright aluminum firewall really make this ready for primetime. While the presentation alone will make you proud to show off this motor, there is a lot of substance beyond its shine. The consignor states this is a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8. Believed to have been installed in 2005, and is believed to have less than 2,000 miles on it. The engine has been upgraded with go-fast goodies like a large Holley double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, and ceramic coated headers feeding a sweet-sounding dual exhaust. Plus, this has the right supporting components, like a new starter, Moroso aluminum fittings, MSD electronic ignition, new JAZ fuel cell, and an aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is stout enough to handle the power, and it also provides comfortable overdrive cruising. So this classic is easy to show off everywhere. That's why it also has rack & pinion power steering. This is a very unique custom built that will have people talking long after you drive away.
