AMX 1973
Description
Regretfully I selling my 1973 AMX. In the last year, I have come down with an eyesight issue which has cut back on my driving a lot. Because of that I'm been slowly selling off my auto collection and now down to my last favorite cars. Its a 1973 AMX Javelin. Last year had $7K paint job in Diamond Blue its factory color. Not a chip or ding on it since I don't drive it much. Doors open and close with no problems. Interior: had seats recovered. Interior in the past had been painted a brighter color than from factory. Headliner good, glass good, seals good. windows tinted, Last windshield installed by past owner was not installed real good at bottom where it meets the dash. No leaks, just doesn't look good, see picture. Engine: 360 long gone replaced with a rebuilt 401 with .030 forged pistons and a Crower RV cam, Edelbrock intake and carb with approx., 10-15K usage since built. Runs great and starts up with no problem, no smoke, no leaks, HD Alum. radiator. Torque-Flite AT, rebuilt 500 miles ago, rest of drivetrain good. new 15" Mangum 500 rims and tires,. about 500 miles on them. Front end redone recently, drives out with no problems, steers straight and brakes good, no pulling left or right. No strange noise from chassis as you drive down the road.
I'm a karma guy and have always wanted to be on the good side of that plus I'm proud of my 100% feedback rating. Here's the not so good problems. Dash to windshield as stated above. Was a AC car but all that equipment removed except for the compressor hoses. Weather Eye, the HVAC controls and fan no working. Heater core, which is good is manually turned off under the hood. Factory radio DOA but I did install, (back when I could see better) a small amp hooked up to 2 new 6X9 coaxial speakers for my iTunes to play thru. IVR (dash gauges voltage regulator) is bad making gauges read about 50% lower than actual reading. Factory tach is dead, I think related to same problem. Hood opener inside is broken, have to open manually from front of car. Glovebox missing its cardboard insides. I "think" that's all its issues. Don't want to shoot myself in the foot but the new buyers needs to know what's what. Opps almost forgot, speedometer stopped working last time I drove it and real mileage is unknown.
Hate to see it go but hate to "see" it just sitting in my garage, need to go to new owner who can enjoy it like I used to. No rush to sell it and I think I'm asking a fair price for its overall good condition. Located in Bethpage, TN about 50 miles north of Nashville. Car is ready to drive anywhere.
