1961 Austin Healey Bugeye or Frogeye Sprite 1275 Show and Drive Roadster
Description
1961 Austin Healey Sprite a.k.a. Bugeye or Frogeye depending on what side of the pond you are on. Completely restored by previous owner with a bored and stroked 1275. It's a fast little car that handles like it's on rails. Anyone who has a love of British motoring should at some point own one of these. They will bring more smiles and thumbs up then any car I have ever owned. She will easily keep with modern traffic and actually surprise a lot of people. This car is 100% rust free with a beautiful paint job that is over 5 years old. No dents/scratches/chips, drives down the road beautifully and will never let you down as far as starting. Striping and numbers are vinyl decals and can easily be removed if desired. Modernization of the ignition system and fuel including electric fuel pump and electronic ignition. Still has positive ground. Signal lights is a toggle switch on dash, all lights work including dim/bright headlights. Manual choke which you pull out once on startup, push it in within 20 seconds and your good. I have plastic totes of various spares including exhaust, side curtains, various gaskets, original soft top frame (note there is no soft top), original hardtop (it is painted silver underneath the white vinyl wrap), original heater, wiper motor, original bumpers etc. I also have a bolt in ready 5spd Datsun transmission that is used for conversions on these. It was completely gone through and I bought it to convert. However I've never left the city with the car so I never did the conversion. So the 5spd can be negotiated on after/if the car sells to it's new owner for additional money if desired. These transmissions are getting extremely hard to find so I don't mind hanging on to it. I also have an original Oregon title from 2014 from when I bought the car if needed. Like anything used any prospective buyers are encouraged to few the car and I am welcome to any pre-winning bid inspections. Nothing is perfect and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. With that being said I am a car guy, am very fussy, and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer Bugeye anywhere. It received very high marks on it's professional appraisal which was well north of $26K My only reason for selling is room, as funny as that sounds (Sprites are so small) I need to make some room for some new British car purchases (so I have chosen to sacrifice two in my collection). Deposit required at auction end with balance in 7 days, sale is final. Email with any questions, no trades, will assist with shipping.
