Austin Healey 100/4 1954 Road & Track
Description
Up for sale is my much beloved Austin Healey. This car was featured in the Road & Track Exotic Classics edition for 1986. It has been in my family for 40 years.
Car is currently stored in our shop. It does not currently run due to sitting for years. The dusty pics are it's current condition. I will be cleaning it up and trying to get it running this week and I will update the post when it is running.
The engine was completely rebuilt in the early 2000's. It has less than 10,000 miles on it since the rebuild. It was rebuilt due to a stuck ring on a piston. Pistons were replaced. Engine has a slight overbore, Crowler rods, crank and cam reground. Head was rebuilt with NOS valves, reground seats with new guides. I can't verify every mile on the car so I'm listing it with unknown miles.
Interior carpet was also replaced around the same time as was the wire harness.
It has 72 spoke Dayton Wire wheels.
The paint is an older (pre 1986) job, and it has some bondo work and a small crack in the front shroud (where they all crack). Paint has faded, so is more orange than the Colorado red it is supposed to be. Has a 3000 style (incorrect) wheel arch painted in to the black paint. See magazine pics..it's been there from the repaint. Mechanically the car is a great start to a restoration or it could be a weekend driver with a little work.
Has soft top, with accessory side curtain windows. Currently the top is down, with tonneau cover on. The top is in great condition.
