Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this factory original black/red 1955 BN-1. This car was recently purchased from it's older, long term Louisiana owner who had plans to return it to the road. The 100-4 model holds a special place in the heart of Healey enthusiasts and is considered the prettiest of all the models, being the original design with it's fantastic and unique lay-down windshield. This car appears very straight and complete with all of the tricky 100-4 pieces that are needed to restore this car.The body on this car appears very good, having only one thin repaint over it's original black, and looks to have retained all of it's original body panels. Amazingly, panel gaps all around look good, close to factory spec. The car's original grille is excellent, almost perfect enough to put back in to a restored car ! Shrouds look pretty good, along with all the car's vulnerable body areas. These cars were often raced and banged up, so it's rare to find such a good straight car with an honest body...The car's underchassis looks very solid also, save for some heavy scale on one of the cross-x rails.This car retains it's original matching numbers engine which was disassembled for rebuild, but complete. It has been installed for shipping purposes and still retains all of it's internal components pictured. This car still has it's original VIN plate, body tag, engine tag. The car is very complete with all of it's rare parts including it's original top frame, sidecurtain set, bumper set, windshield parts, chrome trim, dash instruments, etc.Overall, this factory delivered Black / Red BN-1 is a very attractive candidate for a proper and worthwhile restoration. These early 4-cylinder Big Healeys are very sought after and complete, together, straight, solid projects like this are becoming a rare find.
