Description

The car is cosmetically in very good condition with no substantial scratches or dents and the interior is free of any tears.

Cosmetics aside, there are some mechanical issues that need to be addressed.

The most substantial issue is that there is some transmission issue, the shifting is far from smooth and if given full throttle, the car calls a "Trans Program" error which makes it not able to go into the 4th gear until turned off then on, but it will continue driving. This issue occurred after my mechanic swapped the transmission from the parts car (the last two pictures on the ad, and included in the auction) with the transmission in the main car for sale following a transmission shop informing me that the original transmission in the car had worn out clutches (the car had stopped driving). The transmission shop had replaced the transmission filter and filled it with fresh fluid which made it drive again, and there were no hard shifts or errors until the swap. Unfortunately, after the swap, my mechanic had accidentally discarded the old transmission, so that is not included.

The second issue is that there is some issue with the power steering. At idle, about half to 3/4 of the time, it is very difficult to turn the wheel as if there was no power steering. As soon as you give it any throttle, it quickly becomes easy to turn, but the pump can be heard making a noise. I did check the obvious, and the fluid level is fine.

Mostly minor issues, but in the interest of full disclosure, definitely worth mentioning are that the car does run rich, it runs fine, but would not pass an emissions test (though, being over 25 years old, may not require one in your state). There is a very slow electrical drain somewhere. If driven with any frequency, this is a non-issue, but if left parked for a week or more, it will need to be charged or jumped to get it running again. On the passenger side near the front, there is a missing, non-OEM LED marker light. The previous owner informed me that he bought the marker lights off of eBay, but I could not find an exact replacement. The headliner over the passenger side sun visor and near the rear glass is sagging enough that it can be noticed when looking at it, but doesn't impede the general use of the vehicle. The car also alerts the driver to check the oil pressure sensor and the brakes. The oil pressure is fine as are the brakes, but the sensor for both is apparently not functioning.

Overall, the car looks very nice, and aside from the first two issues, can be used as a daily driver. There is no rust, andthe paintisn't chipped or peeling. Aside from the one missing marker light, all lights and turn signals work as expected. The included parts car is a 1989 750il with a black exterior andtan interior.

Feel free to ask any questions that you may have, the car is, mechanically, far from perfect, but runs and drives. Given the transmission issue, I would not recommend driving the car any substantial distance as it is, but as the car stands, it does drive under it's own power. The insurance and registration on the car have been removed, so unless you intend to register it, it legally has to be trailered home. The included parts car was never registered in my name and does not move under it's own power.

Feel free to ask any questions that you may have, and I'll be happy to answer them.
