Description

Crazy right? I know what your thinking an e21 with 26K original miles no way...AND what appears to be an original Century BMW dealer installed TURBO package!! Well after looking over the car and going over it for a few months I believe it to be absolutely true.
First the CARFAX verifies the car had 9800 miles in 1991, so for the first 9 years of it's life it acquired less then 10K miles. Second the CARFAX verifies that the last owner did have the car for 10 years and that owner kept the car in storage the whole time. Only miles put on the car were the middle 2 owners in NC and TN who racked up 16K between them, they were from smaller towns. So i think this is the story, sold new in CA at Century BMW as a dealer tuner car and spent the first 9 years in CA. Then sold to NC and TN with another 16K miles added, then the last owner stored the car for 10 years and that's how I got if from a friend of the estate of the 85 year old man who was the last real owner. Guy I bought it from was a flipper.
Second, I've been restoring classic and muscle cars for over 35 years and my evaluation of the overall condition of this car does indicate a very low mileage example. You can find me on the web as MRCUCV. I do restorations for a living. But not on this car. Its only original once.
No wear on ANY weatherstrip, the carpet is original with no wear, inside door handles, steering wheel, shift knob, headliner, door sill...have NO WEAR!! Original windshield with no scratches or wear!! All glass original. Original paint except the hood which I believe was repainted in 1993 due to damage. The original paint is in good condition but does have some blemishes on the roof and trunk lid. Overall shows very well for 35 year old paint! Headliner is tight and like new. Doors shut very tight and solid, sun roof works flawlessly, windows roll up like butter, duel outside rear view mirrors work, all lights and signals work, the seats were replaced because or damage while the car was in storage, they were dry-rotted so I upgraded to the Recaro's. Original stereo works but 2 of the speakers were blown, so I replaced all 4 with stock size Polk audio in the stock location. The VDO vacuum/boost gauge is now working and super cool.
Car does not leak a drop...anywhere!
I do think this was a car the was sold new at Century BMW in Alhambra CA, with the $13,000.00 dealer added package. Which included for THIS car the Century BAE Turbo kit, MOMO leather wrapped steering wheel, Bilstein shocks and sport springs, larger front 25.4mm sway bar and rear Alpina 19mm sway bar, VDO boost gauge and the 13x6 inch Carroll Shelby CSS wheels. What proof you ask? Well for one all the items are of the same vintage and show the same amount of patina, second all the work is of a very professional grade, thirdly everything used is period tech. Like all the aircraft aluminum fittings, braided steel lines, hose clamps and hardware used which also show correct 30 year old patina. It's the real deal. This e21 car speaks for itself.

basically got it road worthy for my wife....
Then...back in 1987 my wife and i first dated in a 1982 e21 and she wanted to go back to the 80's ! So for her 55 birthday i got this car but...after going back in time she said it was not that great!! DANG. Oh well, its a great find and will only appreciate. The car is real. It drive's great, and you will NEVER find another like it PERIOD.
