1988 BMW E30 325is. Southern Car. CLEAN! 5sp. Lachssilber. Records, clean Carfax
Description
E30s are on the rise and this is a well cared for example with no problems to speak of.The brakes, clutch and transmission are a joy to use. Power windows and power sunroof work as do all lights. The a/c is ice cold. Rolling on lowered springs, performance shocks and handsome wheels the car is very, very fun to drive. The Carfax is clean and shows Southern history in Florida, South Carolina and Texas, with the past 2 years garaged in DC.I would rate the paint at an 8/10 as it is a 28 year old car (I am a tough critic); the interior is very good and even smells nice. The 'is' included black-out chrome and sports seats, plus a too-low front spoiler that the previous owner replaced with the much more manageable European bib. In Lachssilber over light gray leather, black and silver XXR wheels, with tall, bright greenhouse and perfect proportions, this coupe is a handsome machine that turns heads wherever she goes.
Having been driven and taken care of, she would make a great daily driver for a young enthusiast — imagine a sparkling sports sedan for the price of a dull Toyota — or even the foundation of a terrific club car (although that might be a waste of her very nice interior and excellent air conditioning). I would jump in this E30 and drive it across the country with confidence. She starts right up with the classic BMW 6 cylinder rumble, then sings as the revs climb, with a snick-snick of the gearbox, delicate feedback at the M-Technic wheel (the power steering has been disabled, common with these cars, which makes her heavy at parking speeds but gives amazing feel when rolling), a balance and full throttle oversteer that makes the E30 of the most iconic BMWs ever built.
Any and all issues have been addressed, with a thick file of records back to 2000 that I would be happy to share with prospective buyers. Sadly, I have to let her go as am moving to Puerto Rico where an SUV will be more at home on the roads.
As we know, it's possible to pay a lot less for an E30. But I am not sure there are many out there that will cost you less over the long term. This one has had every issue addressed as it has come up, and that's priceless.
