Buick Grand National "CLONE" 1984/1987

It is unfortunate that I have to say this, but because of some people last week I have to say it. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND ON PAYING! Last week this car sold locally, but it went for more money here on ebay. After turning down a very reasonableoffer, the winning bidder did not pay. I lost both sales.

I just don't have the time or patients for those kinds of losers! Now lets talk about this car.
IT IS A CLONE. I repeat it is not a genuine GRAND NATIONAL. I bought this car partially done as a clone, and like many rookie turbo Buick guys I was going to drop a 383 into the car and be done with it. I decided against that and began to REALLY turn it into a Grand National. Life has thrown some curves my way and now I have to sell.
Let me explain the difference between this car and a real Grand National. As of right now it is a small difference. The turbo on the motor (which I have ready to be installed) and a single digit on the VIN. I spent a TON of money on this car turning it into a GN. So let me list what I have done. I have probably put less than 500-1,000 miles on the car because it is always being upgraded!
First thing I did when I bought this car was an oil change and tune up. The car is over 30 years old so it runs a bit rough until it warms up. (Just trying to be 100% honest here)
Brand new shocks all the way around
The car had just been painted when I bought it less than 2 years ago. It has the best black paint job I have ever seen. Pure deep black that has such a mirror finish you can actually read a newspaper in the paint. I will include a picture of an American Flag that is flying on the second floor of the mechanics garage so you can get an small idea of how good this paint job is.
So it has very new paint
Both doors have been newly skinned with Grand National skins from Highway Stars

Front seats from 1987 Grand National installed and are in great shape.
Rear seats from 1987 Grand National were installed but removed now for more upgrades.
I have a brand new black fitted rug to be installed.
I have a middle console from a 1987 Grand National all set and ready to go in!
I INSTALLED a 1987 Grand National Dashboard that is immaculate!!
I installed a 1987 Grand National steering wheel, but it still has the original regal steering column with the shifter on it. As soon as you install the middle console you can switch to the 1987 STEERING CONSOLE WHICH I WILL INCLUDE WITH THE CAR!
I fixed the few defects on the turbo hood, but it does also have a TURBO HOOD FROM A 1987 GRAND NATIONAL! The hood alone was $500, then I fixed the defects that could not even be seen because they are UNDER the hood, then I paid another $450 for the hood insulator! I am into the hood alone for nearly $1500. I am that anal about this car!
The air conditioning has been converted to what we use today, and it pushes ice cold air!
The wheels were specially cut by American Racing. Those are wrapped in nice tires that are probably NEWER now, but not BRAND NEW.
I will also include one of the two missing things that makes this NOT a genuine Grand National. I will include a TURBO! Install the Turbo parts and the only difference between this car and a genuine GN is simply a digit on the VIN.
I purchased a used CPT 62 3 bolt 3 inch exhaust Turbo by Turbonetics!!!! It was checked out by a professional that races these cars and he offered me $450 on the spot because it's in that good of shape!
As you can see I was NOT kidding around and I spared no expense.
Where the car is over 30 years old, I decided to change the weather stripping on the doors. Some of the stripping is already off the drivers door, but the car is ALWAYS COVERED OR STORED INDOORS! It is never out in the rain and is only in the driveway during the winter if it is being worked on. I am including the weather striopping for the two doors with the car.
This car sat next to a Grand National that sold for $45,000 and you could not tell the difference from 5 feet away! Everything on the outside and 95% of everything on the inside is 1987 Grand National. With a little bit of work the only difference between this car and a $50,000 Grand National will be a single digit in the VIN and tens of thousands of dollars in the price.
I estimate my labor costs alone at being more than what I have the reserve set at.
Compare this car to the Grand Nationals in the $10,000-$15,000 price range and this car makes them look incredibly overpriced.
Compare this car to the Grand Nationals selling for $30,000-$45,000 and they look the same except my paint is without a doubt far better.
I don't have an exact number of what I have invested but ANYONE that knows EVEN A LITTLE about these cars, knows what this list costs! It is well over the 5 digit mark. I am asking far far less then what I have spent, and you can see that!
Don't let 1 digit in the VIN stop you from getting this car you have always wanted. Believe me....CARS CAN'T READ THE VIN. The car doesn't know it is a clone and neither will anyone else if you don't tell them. This car was going to be a family heirloom and I treat it as such. There is nothing wrong with paying less for a car just to simply enjoy it. Happy bidding, good luck and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not bid unless you really want the car. Thank you.
P.S. I do have a paypal account for the deposit and such. I have never sold such an expensive item on ebay so I am not sure if Paypal will allow the whole thing to be paid through them. I have never done it, but I am looking into it.
