Description

Up for sale is the GRAND CAMINO. It is a 1984 El CAMINO that has been transformed into the 1987 Buick Grand National. The build was a 7 year labor of love, professionally built with no expense spared. It took close to $95,000 to piece this car together without counting labor. It has the best of all parts. The car has never been smoked in or driven in the rain. The car was completed in August of 2004 and has won numerous trophys including best of Show with car shows in excess of 300 participants. It has been featured in GM High Tech Performance magazine in April of 2006 and was also featured in the GS Xtra and an El CAMINO calendar. You can see the publication that was printed in GM High Tech Performance if you enter a Google search Al Shapiro Grand Scheme. The car is being sold as is with no warranty however it has been completely rebuilt. Shipping of the car is the responsibility of the buyer. More pictures are available upon request and if you have any special requests please let me know. IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED AND WANT TO CALL ME TO DISCUSS THE CAR, YOU CAN REACH ME AT 239-810-2552. My name is Al. I have always been told that this car is every bit as special as a GNX and is being offered at a price much lower than a GNX. PERFORMANCE

The car was timed at Bradenton Speedway with the original motor (about 100 HP less than this Stage II motor) at 11.42 @ 136 MPH. The car was never timed with the current Stage II motor. It did dyno at 493 HP to the rear wheels on a very conservative tune with only 18* of timing at WOT. The camshaft is retarded to help with spool up. This was done before the trans brake was installed. It is estimated that the current time with this motor would be anywherefrom 10.20 - 10.50and with a little more tuning, high 9's are possible. 500 HP to the rear wheels is about 600 HP at the flywheel.
