1996.The engine was switched to the iron head version of the Gen II LT1 V8, its 350c.i/5.7 liters producing 260hp (194kW) and 335lb·ft (454This model was the last change in body and engine before the wagon was last produced in N·m) of torque. All Wagons were equipped with factory installed stainless steel dual exhaust. The wagon can tow up to 5000 lbs or 7000 with using a weight distributing hitch, dual sway controls, increasing the rear tire pressure to 35 psi and disabling the Electronic Level Control. A redesigned dashboard included a new instrument cluster, with climate controls mounted higher and a knee bolster below. A large pad containing the passenger airbag replaced the right half of the wood-look dash.
