I want to start by saying I am not a dealer, I am a private seller and I own this car free and clear..
Ok, I have a 1973 Camaro Type LT with the RS package for sale... I have been playing with Classic and "muscle cars" my whole life. I have saved, and put quite a few of them back on the road over the years...
I don't do these for a living its more of a hobby to me,and for the love of Classic Cars...
This Camaro I found last year just before winter, I purchased it from the original owners daughter. So that would make me the third owner...
The car itself has, I believe to be 13,450 original miles, The daughter told me the car has never seen snow andrain on maybe a handful of occasions. It was driven on nice sunny days only its whole life, some of those trips were to Cloverleaf Drag strip in the 70's and 80's.
The paint and interior areoriginal and unrestored. The interior is code 788 neutral buckets that is as close to new as you would ever find in a 45 year old car...
The paint is code 42 Dark Green with code A White vinyl top...
The paint is original and still shows very well, it does have a few dings and scratches but for 45 year old paint its quite impressive.
Now for the drive train...
I was told the drivetrain was swapped when the car was only a couple of years old, because it just wasn't fast enough. Back in the 70's HP parts were fairly easy to come by and this one was built with some pretty good stuff..
Engine:
The engine is a 1968 IU code 427/435 hp from a Corvette, 4 bolt main caps, withsolid lifter cam withforged bottom end
T0315IU
18S414799
Has a 1970 LS6 454 intake (for hood clearance)
3963569
Topped with a 3310-1 Holley 780 and a Mallory ignition.
The engine does run fine on premium unleaded but runs better on a 4.1 mix with premium and 110 octane fuel (like Cam 2)
Trans:
The trans is a th400 I haven't looked up the numbers but it feels as though it was built to handle the power that the engine is capable of producing..
Its shifts fine, a little fast and hard out of first under normal conditions but does shift fine.
Will bark the tires at 1-2 and2-3 shifts under heavy throttle :)
Rear:
It has a BV code 12 bolt rear with 4.10 gears.
BV0207C2 E
I did pull the cover and it does still have all factory GM components in the rear.
As you can see the drive train is set up for some serious business...
I've had the car over the winter and I havegone over it. All fresh fluids, replaced hoses that were old,Sand blasted and painted wheels, new tires, went thru the brakes, adjusted valves to .021 with engine at temp, cleaned a tuned carb, set timing,etc.ect.ect
All lights, wipers, heater, turn signals, etc work as they should.
All gauges work except the amp gauge and clock, added oil pressure gauge for reassurance.
Ash tray and cigarette lighter have never been used. :)
Doors open with sag what so ever and close very easily, Doors have never been apart so window close and seal as they should.
All in all it is a really clean, solid, all original steel, paint, and interior car..
Kinda rare colors and options being a column shift vinyl top Camaro with the RS package...
As of now it is completely turn key, get in and go car, very powerful and very fun car to drive...
The bad;
Headliner is starting to sag
Dings on top of fenders and hood, not horrible but noticable..:(
amp gauge and clock are not working.
Im sure Im missing some stuff but I try to be as accurate and honest in the description as possible,
