We are offering this beautiful, striking 1949 Sedan Delivery at $3k less than what it cost us to build it...which was the sameprice we advertised it for several weeks ago on Ebay- $21,995....we had many people wanting to purchase, but they all had to include partial trades in their offers...we appreciated the response, butwe are wanting and needingto sell it outright. Our goal was and still remains the same...to raise money to assist disabled or homeless veterans and their families....we have a number of other cars nowalmost completed and others readyto build and we cannot actually help someone in need until a project sells...this time, with the furtherprice reduction, someone out there is going to be able topurchase and own a rare and uniquecar that performs very well and turns heads everywhere it goes... at a great price!
This has been an on-going 3 year project. Every component that came stock originallyfrom the factory has been removed and replaced with late model performance, comfort and reliabilityenhancements....the list below include the changes

Much much more....honest descriptions should always include what needs repair: the horn for some reason does not currently work; the rear cargo door closes nicely but does not lock with a key; passenger door vent window is permanently closed; there are a few tinyplaces where watercreepsin onto the floor mats after we wash the car
This Sedan Delivery, also known in it's day as a Pie Wagon, runs and drives beautifully on the streets and freeways.....unlike the original suspension challenges, it handles curves and turns very nicely...there are very few survivors of this style and era...one of the veryfirst commercial vehicles built on a car chassis....this vehicle was shown in Texas in car shows in the late sixties...then placed in a warehouse for decades before family members of theoriginal owneroffered it to us insupport of our cause...what makes this delivery all the more special is that the frontdoors have bothbeen changed out and the body modifiedtoaccommodate original 2 door sedan doors, which are nearly 7 inches longer than the original delivery doors.....a tremendous amount of custom work had to be done to accomplish this...the results are truly striking...the look of the body and roofis now lower, longer and far more streamlined....when you google 1949 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery original images, you can easily see andappreciate the difference. The original ugly gas tank filler neck on the driver rear fenderhas been removed and replaced by a late model accessdoor that was added to the passenger side rear fender..
This car presents beautifully.. but like nearly every lightly driven vehicle, there are a few, insignificantflaws in the paint ..very clean and tidy underneath....this project was built to be driven..it was never intended to be a garage queen show car....it draws crowds quickly and is one of very few of this first year of production that has been restored with all late model components. Most remaining 49's we have seenhave kept their straight 6, 216motors, 3 speed manual transmissions with column shift, stock steering, suspension, brakes, etc...as a result, there is absolutely no comparison with this ride for comfort, ease and funof driving and performance. And yet asking prices for those 1949 Sedan Delivery bone-stockers, if you can find one, are often more than we are asking forthis one with A/C, power windows and all the other new upgrades.
