Description

Much of the allure of a vintage pickup is the connection to its history of putting America to work. So it doesn't get any better when you find a 1955 Chevrolet 3100 first series, with a rare five-window body, and cool service station livery.Chevy was giving its now-legendary (and highly sought-after) Advance Design pickup its final send off in 1955. This was a short run before GM fully switched to the new Apache design in this same year. The more desirable five-window setup is something all enthusiasts look for. That gives this one rarity, distinction, and desirability that will likely never go away. Of course, the attractiveness is only heightened on a pickup that looks this good. Finished in a nice cream color, it has a great period-correct hue, but there is the unmistakable luster from the investment in a modern respray. Also, this one appeals to the lovers of shine with mirror-like bumpers, headlight surrounds, and slats in the real wood truck bed. Plus, the large 17-inch Ridler wheels add boldness to the profile, and that's far from the only modern touch. There's a modern bow tie badge on the tailgate, and cool pinstriping that starts at the hood and wraps around the cab. We even like the BP service station logo on the door. It adds some credibility to this work-ready classic. But if you don't enjoy it, the decal comes off easily.Inside there's still hints of old school charm left in this completely custom interior. The cream color from the exterior is utilized inside, and it's now joined by an aggressive red. The bold color is utilized for the custom bucket seats that are vastly more comfortable than anything you could get in a 1950s pickup. And speaking of comfort, you and your passenger enjoy modern conveniences like an AM/FM/CD stereo, center console, and ice-cold air conditioning running modern R134a for easy servicing. But as you look over the whole interior, the large tach and the full Omega Kustom gauge panel remind you that there is something special under the hood.It wouldn't be a true custom build without a great looking engine, and this one does not disappoint. You'll be proud to lift the hood at events and showcase the 350 cubic-inch V8. It's been upgraded with plenty of shine, including the Chevrolet performance air cleaner and valve covers. This small block fires up nicely and makes a nice rumble from the dual exhaust. Because you want to take this one to car shows near and far, it has great driving features such as a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. As you look over this entire pickup, the details reveal how much of a thoughtful build this is. For example, the aluminum radiator and electric fan means you can be sitting in traffic with the A/C pumping, and this classic pickup should still be running cool. This is a fully restored five-window pickup from a short model year. Rare and complete vintage trucks like this are always hard to find, so a short delay in calling could mean a long time of regret. Don't wait...call now!!
