Advanced Design Chevy trucks are one of the hottest vintage pickups going because they combine an upright tough appearance with some of the great lines that make other GM products iconic in the 1950s. So, we're always excited to have a 1953 Chevrolet 3100, with the rare 5-window option, that's been customized to perfectly blend old school style with modern performance appeal in our showroom. Two tone copper and black gives this pickup and instant dose of attitude and appeal that goes beyond its 5-widow high desirability. Of course it also helps that it has been applied over some of the straightest bodywork around. The paint does show minor signs of being enjoyed (that's what a cool classic is all about!), but the modern clearcoat still has so much shine it allows this great color combo to overtake much of the chrome. It seems even the real wood in the truck bed was specifically chosen to coordinate with the two colors perfectly. Of course it wouldn't be a true classic without some brightwork, but it's reserved to draw attention to places like the optional Chevy badge, and staggered Riddler wheels that give this pickup an aggressive stance. The result is a vintage pickup with some very modern appeal.Just like the exterior, the interior is full of upgrades without losing the original spirit. Black and copper are the two main colors once again, with the dark hue looking great on high traffic areas like the bench seat, carpets, and door panes. The precious metal paint is reserved for showpieces like the dash. The driver gets a sports steering wheel from a later Chevy, and beyond that, the gauges also have the unmistakable look of a GM product decades younger. The AM/FM/CD stereo has been custom adapted to the original transistor radio's spot. Below all this are very welcomed additions such as auxiliary gauges and vents for the modern R-134a ice cold air conditioning. With all these upgrades so far, you know there's something special under the hood. The old straight six was swapped in favor of legendary small-block power. The smooth running 305 cubic-inch V8 looks great in the engine bay thanks to the Edelbrock air cleaner, Edelbrock valve covers and hoses that are new enough to blend into the overall dark and shiny theme of this pickup. It also has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and newer Flowmaster dual exhaust for some extra bark and bite from this classic custom pickup. As we mentioned before, this is a truck that was built to be driven. That's why you've got an upgraded modern independent front suspension, with double A-arm setup, and the comfort of power front disc brakes. Add in the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and modern low profile tires, and this is an easy cruising vintage 3100 pickup. On the outside this rare 5-window Chevy looks like a classic driving machine, but it has also been upgraded to be as comfortable as a daily driver. So while you might have been attracted to this one by its appearance, you also now know it's far more than just a Sunday show truck. Call today!
