Description

1949 Chevrolet Thriftmaster 3100 1/2 Ton Pickup. Optioned with the rare five window cab and right hand sun visor, Right hand mirror, also offers the comfort of a deluxe heater. Finished in beautiful black exterior and black and gray interior. a 235 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed manual transmission and rear wheel drive. It drives great and will run down the highway smoothly at 60mph. General Motors' first major redesign post-WWII, the Advanced Design 3100 series was bil...led as a bigger, stronger, and sleeker design. During this generation of trucks from 1947-1955, the Chevrolet trucks were #1 in sales. The truck presents itself in excellent restored condition with attention to detail. The majority of the work was performed by a professional shop in the early 2000's. Interior is completely done, seat finished in black vinyl. Gauges could be replaced as they have developed rust on the faces. Speedo needle broke and is n/w along with the fuel gauge, horn and ebrake. Work performed by previous owner as follows: - Front end serviced. - New steel exhaust. - New Chrome throughout. - New emblems, weather seals and carpet. - New glass and seals. - New Wide White Wall Coker Classic Tires - Newer fuel tank and fuel system including all lines and pump. Carb. redone. - Turn signal system n/w. Turn signal lever etc. not installed. - Brakes, headlights checked and work properly. This '49 5 Window was restored and used lightly and then sat an extended period of time. It was purchased and used a few times and then again sat. The paint looks fantastic as does the body, bed, interior etc. It drives wonderfully but the underside shows a little oranging in the joints and on flat areas from a little ground moister. It has as stated by the last owner only 400 approximate miles since it's restoration.
