1976 Corvette Stingray resto-project
Description
1976 corvette sting ray L48 resto-project
I will give all the info I have but bear in mind im not original owner nor a master mechanic.85k original miles on body and frameFar as I know there's 2-4 owners on paper and two of them were just temporary changes of hand.Automatic transmission car4barrel carb on edelbrock torker2 manifoldEngine looks like it was rebuilt at one time but I cant be sure
***This car does start, stop, shift, run and drive but in my opinion is a full rebuild, restoration project so it is being sold as a full restoration as-is***
Clean title, I know a notary I can have it notorized the day the car gets picked up as long as its before 7pm.
The good: all 4tires have good tread but the drivers side rear is a little dryrottedAll the brakes work, we just went through em all. New rotors, pads, shoes etc...Engine fires up everytimeTranny fluid is clean and tranny seems to shift properlyAs far as I can tell from a website ill provide for anyone who asks, it seems to be numbers matching powerplant mated to a Th-350 transmission. So everything seems to be original as far as I can tell. All original interior (albeit old and worn)Solid body except for a palm sized cracking in the nose (see pics)The power antennae works, factory radio works, blower motor for heat works, the pop up headlights work, tail lights workT-tops are in one piece and functionalIt will start up and drive onto a flat bed or trailer no problemNew engine ground wireThe power windows workAll the glass is intact no visible cracks far as I can tellWindshield wipers work.Turn signals work
The bad:Car sat for a long time & therefore needs a full restorationThe engine just started a knock from what I can tell is in the top end on passenger side. I would rebuild the entire engine with new rings, bearings, seals etc....Entire suspension, shocks, all rubber & body mounts need redone.Rear end case that has the bolt mounting to hold the rear leaf spring needs replaced the bottom mounts are cracked (see pics)The steering column came apart where it tilts. Could probably be repaired with parts or just replaced. The vaccum lines upfront are all dryrotted, pretty much all rubber lines I would replace but all function far as I can tell no leaksTransmission pan & oil pan need new seals.Car had factory air conditioning far as I can tell but it has been pulled. Not the original carb or Intake manifold far as I can tellNo air cleanerPassenger side seat has some tearing starting (see pics)Drivers seat will not fold upNeeds drivers and passeneger side floor pans replaced (see pics)Needs drivers side rocker replaced far as I can tellThere is a palm sized area on the frame behind drivers seat where the crossmember joins that is starting to rot and needs attention so it won't go bad in the future (at least it look that way to me but maybe im paranoid) but thats the only spot that looks like it needs attention. (See pics)The car definitely needs repaintedThe rear window needs resealed, probably be a good idea to replace Ttop seals & window sealsMissing screw in pins under hood that keep it lockedDash has cracks (see pics)Radiator support needs replaced its starting to rotMissing the corvette badge on tail (see photo)
Tried to best of my ability to go over the car and scrutinize and make it appear worse than it possibly is. You be the judge. More pics if you message me, we can have a phone convo, discuss details whatever.
