In a segment that's packed with dreamy drop-tops and 6-figure museum fodder, it's pretty rare to see a flashy, fully tubbed strip warrior like this stunning 210. A killer custom that mixes storied Detroit muscle with sublime SoCal style, this impressive Chevy wraps a supercharged 540/3-speed drivetrain in supple leather trim and slick pearlescent paint. If you're looking for an incredible hot rod that's every bit as classy, and twice as cool, as a stuffy concours car, this exceptional tri-five is primed, polished and ready to rumble!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Possessing straight and solid lines that virtually glow under our bright showroom lighting, this wicked 210 is the beneficiary of a high quality, ground-up restoration that was completed roughly two years ago. The car's thoroughly massaged fuselage has been augmented with fresh chrome, color-keyed emblems and a full outfit of dark-tint glass. Custom touches include LED taillights, LED parking lamps, dual-mode HID headlights, capped wipers and a reworked hood. And today, this awesome bowtie rolls as a fresh and intriguing smile machine that, despite modification, easily upholds the clean, simplistic charm that's characteristic of Chevy's beloved 210.

ENGINE

By now, it's probably pretty apparent that this classic was built to be seen. But, thanks to the car's 540 cubic inch supercharged V8, that might be easier said than done! At the top of that polished and painted mill, a shotgun-style air cleaner feeds chromed Quick Fuel Technology carburetors, which are fitted with braided hoses, polished fluid lines and a liquid-filled MQQN Equipment pressure gauge. Below those carburetors, a big Mooneyham blower funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture in to high quality Brodix heads, which are capped with polished and etched valve covers. Fires get lit by an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, which jolts green Taylor plug wires. Cooling comes courtesy of a polished aluminum radiator, which rides between a big pusher fan, a polished expansion tank and a Mr. Gasket ThermoCap. Spent gases exit through large-diameter Doug's headers. An array of billet pulleys spins a coated Edelbrock water pump between polished timing components and a chrome Powermaster alternator. And the car's glossy, body-matched engine compartment is exceptionally well done, with items like trick dipsticks, Allstar breather tanks and Billet Specialties hood hinges upping the ante for both performance and aesthetics.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Not surprisingly, the bottom of this show worthy Chevy continues the theme of pairing proven hardware with enhanced technology. Behind the awesome engine, a tough Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed makes good use of a narrowed axle. Turns come courtesy of modern power steering. Speed gets scrubbed by polished Wilwood calipers, which utilize a CPP master cylinder and proven Hydratech hydraulics to clench drilled and slotted rotors. A large-diameter exhaust system hangs compact cutouts in front of small resonators and large Magnaflow mufflers. The car's body-matched frame and floorpans are a stark contrast to a custom, Satin Black suspension, which floats sturdy ladder bars, tubular control arms and adjustable QA-1 coil-overs under full wheel tubs. That hardware rolls on a sweet set of chrome wheels, which spin 26x10R18 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs, and 20x18R20 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs, around Billet Specialties spinners. And fully sorted details, like a custom oil pan, a custom fuel tank, a Mallory fuel pump and a heavy-duty transmission cooler, ensure this classic is capable of years of carefree cruising.

INTERIOR

Like most ground-up builds, this 210 features a completely reworked interior. The highlights of that leather-lined cockpit include a custom suede headliner, custom side panels, custom bucket seats, a custom package tray and a custom, full-length console. That quartet of seats mixes modern lap belts with power adjustment for the car's driver. Those side panels hang billet handles and polished accents beneath green toppers and dice lock knobs. The aforementioned console flows through modern Pioneer audio, a beefy TCI shifter and stainless cupholders. At the floor, premium, green-lit carpet floats stitched mats under billet pedals. At the front of that carpet, a color-keyed dash anchors digital telemetry in polished, Chevrolet-branded trim. In front of the driver, a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel laps a polished, tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom-upholstered trunk hides a bit of storage space.
