Description

Simply pristine

This 1972 Chevrolet C10 pickup is pretty far past stock, you can't deny that there's a pretty serious investment in the look. Add in a great-running small block V8 and a bunch of creature comforts, and you get a truck that's still daily-driver friendly but show-truck outrageous. There'sover 60kinvested in this pickup, which makes it one heck of a bargain for those of you who like the look. The tri-tone paint, including bright green, blue, and burgundy details, all separated by hand-painted pinstripes, offers a jaw-dropping look. We don't know exactly when the work was done, but it looks quite fresh so it's either a recent build or a very, very well-preserved restoration that has had the best of care. The modifications are subtle but effective, including a cowl-induction hood, shaved emblems, a smooth tailgate, a billet grille up front, and some artistic pinstripe work offers a traditional look. Chrome bumpers really are the best choice on these vintage pickups, and the bed is fitted with a snug-fitting tonneau that makes for a large, weatherproof storage area complete with all-weather carpet. The interior is a little more mainstream, with a wide bench seat wrapped in blue fabric that maintains the truck's practical side. The instrument panel on these trucks is so good looking that you really don't need custom gauges to make it look fantastic, and even with some normal light fade on the orange needles, they're in fine condition. To make this truck even more user-friendly, it includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Vintage Air heat and A/C, and an upgraded stereo system that really sounds good. More custom pinstriping on the glove box door ties it together with heavy-duty floor mats protect the plush carpets that help control noise and heat.Mechanically, this truck sticks to the traditional formula: new 350 cubic inches of Chevrolet V8 power with all recepits. The engine bay is very nicely done with a combination of OEM and aftermarket parts to create a show look without compromising reliability. Edelbrock supplied a few dress-up pieces and the block is painted Chevy Orange, so it really stands out nicely against the blue body paint. It starts and runs like a small block chevy should, and in the lightweight short bed/regular cab truck, performance is quite entertaining. You'll note that the undercarriage was detailed at the same time, so the bright blue paint extends to the frame and suspension, which uses dropped A-arms and lowering springs to give it the ideal stance. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission spins the original rear end, so the truck cruises easily and doesn't mind working now and then, if that's your inclination. Long-tube headers and a custom exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers offer a hot rod sound that seems completely appropriate on this customized C10. Custom Boss Motorsports wheels recall vintage Torque Thrusts and emphasizes the lowered look with staggered 18-inch front and 20-inch rear performance radials, Customs like this aren't for everyone, but if you like to stand out and understand that building a truck like this takes big dollars, then you'll also understand that it represents something of a bargain. Great to look at and lots of fun to drive, this C10 definitely delivers on the promises made by its outrageous good looks. Call today!
