A new bed and tailgate was added at some point. All prior paint and filler removed to bare metal. Body and bed: DuPont Chroma Base silver and several coats of clear coat. Electrical: All wiring was removed and replaced with a new harness and fuse block (under seat where original gas tank was located). Battery was placed under the seat with a “kill switch” and external terminals outside the seat support for easy access. The original instrument panel was preserved and all modern senders were connected. Turn signals and indicator lights on dash were added. In addition to the gauge, there is a temperature idiot light Loud horns Interior Original wood floor replaced with steel Seat from Glide Manufacturing (California) -- vinyl with lumbar support. Dynamat insulation in cab, doors and floor Headliner Original metal door panels restored Armrests from 1955 Chevy Doors reinforced with interior channel for safety and sound deadening All new NOS handles and knobs Truck originally had door lock on passenger side only. Lock installed on driver side and keyed the same “Grab” handles on windshield for ease of entry New rear view mirrors-1 inside, 2 outside Steel kick panels replaced cardboard originals Carpet Stainless steel door sills Lokar brake and accelerator pedals Sun visors 3 point seat belts Air Conditioning Vintage Air Mini Gen II installed Glass and Weather Stripping: All windshield frames replaced. All glass (tinted), gaskets, seals, etc. replaced. Cowl vent sealed (leaked!). Crank out windshield sealed (leaked). Roll down window mechanism (regulator) replaced with system from a Jaguar! (smooth). Windshield wipers: Original truck had on one wiper vacuum operated on driver side. Replaced with two electric wipers Lighting: Headlamps replaced with hi and lo beam Xenon lamps. New rear brake lights were converted to LED. A “third” brake light was added in the rear window of the cab. LED brake lights were added in the curl of the bed. Interior lights under the dash and in the ceiling were added. Radio: Compact Pioneer AM/FM radio and single CD player in glove box. Speakers in kick-panels Steering Wheel: Tilt Budnik aluminum steering wheel Shifter: Lokar floor mounted floor shifter Parking Brake: Original floor-mounted parking lever replaced with under-the-dash system from 1967 Corvette. Indictor light was added to the dash. Bed: Wood coated with penetrating sealer rather than customary polyurethane that cracks and ages. Tonneau cover from one piece convertible top material (new 2017). Bumpers: Original bumpers curled under the fenders.
