My auctions are different than most-I AM GOING TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THIS TERRIFIC1951 CHEVROLET 3100 "SHORT WHEEL BASE TRUCK"
This truck was first restored 27 years ago by a DELTA Airline pilot stationed here in GeorgiaThe engine and transmission were rebuilt at this time.He finished it and lost interest and put it into dry storage.A retired gentleman from a little town 100 miles south of Atlanta bought the truck.The paint lost its shine and was in need of refurbishing.It was dismantled and then the truck was stripped to bare metal.Using the correct "PPG" green paint he brought it back to life!I have a neat photo album showing the truck coming out of storage.The photos show the truck being taken off the frame and being redone!Any and all imperfections were corrected and a nice paint job was applied.The clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, water pump, carb were either rebuilt or upgraded.The wiring harness was checked and a new single wire alternator was installed.A new battery was installedThe frame was cleaned and painted with a high grade black paint.Suspension checked and lubedCorrect rare "Artillery" wheels with new white wall tires and new hub caps and bands were installed.Fresh set of seat covers, door panels, headlinerAll gauges work except gasgaugeRadio has been refurbishedbut is not hooked upWipers do not work - still on the vacuum systemAll lights and blinkers function as they shouldTHIS IS A NICE TRUCK...I GET MANY COMMENTS WHEREVER I GO
