Description

A Stunning1959 Chevrolet Corvette RestoMod

Now Offered For Sale by a Private Party

After many years of stored ownership, the goal of this ’59 Corvette frame off total rebuild was the creation of a relatively stock appearing, excellent handling, and ample powered cruising as well as show & shine capable hot rod. The eye catching mellow yellow paint differentiates this ‘59 Vette from the oft seen black, red, white, blue, etc. Corvettes. As noted below, the 2500+ hour “no expense spared” effort, resulted in a like-new classic car with numerous modern features for comfort and safety while also continuing to appreciate in value

A precision frame off restoration was accomplished utilizing custom fabricated jigs for body work followed by transfer to the completed frame. It was then meticulously reassembled with all new hi-strength fasteners resulting in excellent fitment as evidenced by flawless body components alignment

Less than 1000 miles have been driven since the completion of the award winning frame off restoration process with little evidence of any use. The underside remains as nice and clean as the visible body and interior. (The original odometer displays 44,XXX, is of unknown accuracy, and is mileage exempt on the OR Title)

The gorgeous 1967 Corvette “Sunfire Yellow” hi-gloss paint chosen was applied by Robert Yearous at Avenue Autoworks. The softer yellow color makes this car a "real show stopper". attractively different from other commonly seen C1 Corvettes

All of the original chrome parts were either re-chromed or replaced with correct Corvette chrome components and were then installed with all new fasteners

All of the original stainless trim was reworked and polished by a stainless restoration expert, Chuck Hoovey, before being reattached with all new fasteners

A new 59 Corvette correct tinted windshield was professionally installed with all new rubber and fasteners

All hood, door, soft top, and trunk hinges were reconditioned, coated, and then installed with all new fasteners

A new black Al Knoch convertible top was stretched over the reconditioned and powder coated soft top framework before being reinstalled with all new fasteners

New black Al Knoch vinyl 59’ Corvette factory correct seat covers were installed over rebuilt springs and pads. All other new interior upholstery, panels, and trim pieces as well as new carpets were also installed for a fresh new stock appearance

The dashboard instrument cluster and speaker bezel were repainted to the original high luster gloss black. All original instruments were reconditioned including new face and lens before they were reinstalled after which the new correct black padded dash cover was applied. Additionally a custom Corvette15” leather wrapped steering wheel with the iconic Corvette center horn button was installed to replace the stock 17” wheel, thus providing improved ease of entry and egress

The stock frame and other related components were completely disassembled, soda blasted, thoroughly cleaned, and then powder coated with semi-gloss black by Lake Industries

A Messler Engineering front coil-over independent front suspension was installed including adjustable aluminum shocks, rack & pinion power steering, and disc brakes forvastly improved handling and a much smoother ride

The stock rear end housing was soda blasted and new rear suspension including springs, anti-sway bar, control arms, and track locator were recoated before being reinstalled with new shocks using all new fasteners and grommets

This 1959 Corvette was repowered by installing a new Chevrolet Performance ZZ4 aluminum head 350 cu.in. crate engine upgraded with a new aluminum Edelbrock manifold, progressive linked dual four Edelbrock carburetors, an Edelbrock hi-output alternator, and an Accel Distributor producing a responsive yet manageable 385 horsepower for comfortable and reliable cruising.

A new Corvette fuel tank, sending unit, filters, and fuel lines with adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fuel line pressure gauge were installed

A DeWitt aluminum radiator and Griffin aluminum shroud with dual thermostatically controlled and switched electric fans combined with an Edelbrock hi-flow aluminum water pump were installed for improved cruising engine temperature control

Sanderson ceramic coated headers connected to a custom repositioned exhaust system with Bassani Xhaust mufflers culminating in 3” chrome diagonal tips were installed for better performance and a powerful yet mellow exhaust sound

A completely rebuilt Borg Warner Super T10 4-speed transmission with a Corvette correct shifter was placed behind a new Centerforce flywheel/clutch coupled by a balanced drive-line to the positraction 3rd member with new 3:70 gears

The front tires are 17” BF Goodrich g-force sport mounted on Foose polished aluminum Nitrous wheels while the rear tires and rims are larger 18” using the same BF Goodrich/Foose combination. The tire/wheel combination in conjunction with the 2’” dropped front spindles give this 1959 Corvette the perfect slightly lower in front stance and appearance

Many other upgrades, too numerous to list here, were also completed during the “no expense spared” Corvette remake process.

This 1959 Corvette began life as a black and white, 270 hp, dual-four barrel, 3-speed, positraction, radio delete car i.e. a poor guys hot rod. It was purchased by the current owner in 1989 out of a country shed, (with non-original ’61 block/heads, dual four carburetors missing, worn upholstery, and faded light yellow paint). It then sat in the current owner’s shop untouched for many years before the aforementioned project was undertaken that then lasted for 2+ years. At age 72, with health issues and other projects now at hand it is time to pass on this outstanding perfectly modified classic car for another car enthusiast to enjoy.

This award winning 1959 Corvette RestoMod with a beautiful appearance functions flawlessly and can be driven with confidence or shown anywhere its new owner may desire.
