This is a C4 Corvette for the performance enthusiast. The engine is stock and very well-behaved for the street, but other performance modifications make it much faster than a stock C4. A quarter-mile time of 12.9 sec at 111mph at 5,860 foot elevation Bandimere Raceway in Colorado was obtained with the nitrous system shown with this car. Sea level performance, predicted by NHRA altitude correction factors, would be about 12.2 sec and 118 mph. The Melrose ceramic coated headers, 3 inch exhaust system, and Classic Chambered 3 inch glasspacks produce a sound that will turn heads on full throttle and a deep rumble at idle. Mid-America custom leather seats feature carbon fiber bolsters and custom embroidered emblems. I recently drove this car over 3,000 miles from Colorado to Tennessee and back; the seats were extremely comfortable and the car averaged 25mpg and burned less than half a quart of oil. This Corvette has been kept very clean and very well maintained.
Performance mods:
3.90 differential installed by Purifoy Chevrolet.
Spec Stage 4 clutch and Fidanza aluminum flywheel installed by Dragon Race.
150 shot wet nitrous installation with 255 lph high flow fuel pump producing 422 hp and 491 ft-lbs torque as measured at the rear wheels. Nitrous tank heater has temp feedback for constant pressure. Installation by Dragon Race; power for the nitrous system was taken from the ASR and cruise control, which were disconnected.
MSD Digital 6 Plus ignition system with Blaster coil, and rev limiter. MSD distributor replacement of Opti-spark.
Hurst short-throw shifter.
Mid-Americal SLP intake system.
Air conditioning system removed with GM engineered eliminator bracket.
Manual over-ride switch for second radiator fan; keeps engine temps low.
New catalytic converters in October 2015; passed Colorado smog tests on 29 Oct 2015. Less than 4,000 miles on the rear tires; less than 8,000 miles on the front tires. New brakes in 2015. Complete maintenance inspection performed at Purifoy Chevrolet on April 21, 2016. Mobil 1 synthetic used on all oil changes, and the oil was just changed on July 8th, 2016. All maintenance records since the car was bought in 2004, plus records from previous owner, are included. Although the car has been kept meticulously clean and free of damage, the paint, while in good condition, shows normal wear for the mileage with a few small rock chips.
