1965 Chevrolet impala w/327 and 283
Description
1965 Impala with a rebuilt 327 and powerglide transmission. The engine fires right up, runs excellent, and sounds incredible. It was acid dipped and professionally rebuilt to OEM specs by a shop owner in Pottstown, PA. He stated that the 327 was from a 1969 Impala convertible, but the block casting number shows as a 1968. The original powerglide transmission and drive shaft were also professionally rebuilt at the same time and all three have under 1500 miles on them although the trans has developed a leak in the pan area.
Accessories include a rebuilt 4 barrel Holley carb, aluminum Edelbrock intake, newer Accel HEI ignition coil, steel radiator, water pump, fuel pump, power steering pump, starter, alternator and battery as well as dual Flowmaster/exhaust system. A new dual master cylinder and new brake lines were added to replace the single resevoir cylinder. The mechanic who split the brake system also informed me that the gas line could use replacing.
The vehicle has been garage kept for the last 15 years that I am aware, but signs of previous weathering are evident around the rear wheel wells, trunk and space beneath the vinyl at the rear window frame. Otherwise the body is in good shape as are the floor pans, chrome pieces, vinyl top and frame.
The interior has all of the original material. The seats are in need of reupholstering, but headliner and door panels are solid. Lights, wipers, and blinkers all work. No climate control, cigarette lighter or radio functions. The radio and original A/C system from 1965 are also included although in need of rebuild.
The original 283 is available but not included in the auction.
