1956 Chevy Bel Air Belair Two Door Sport Coupe No Post Tri Five Chevrolet
Description
My Chevy is for sale because I am moving out of state. See details below;
PROS:New tires, new gas tank, rebuilt 4bl carb, new water pump, new radiator. 350 w/ newly rebuilt Saginaw 4 speed. Shifts well. Rack and pinion power steering w/ Iditit tilt column. 4 wheel non-power disc brakes. Car runs very well. Starts easily. Idles perfectly. Does NOT overheat. This car is a diver. Not a show car. The paint looks good from a distance but it is faded, imperfect, and has several minor dings, scratches, etc. I've owned it for over a decade and have just enjoyed driving it. No worries at the store about door dings or paint chips from the road. She runs well on the freeway, too ... at about 70mph she gets about 15-16mpg. Exhaust system is all new - from the headers to the tips. Sounds great! Lights, brake lights, signals all work.CONS:Rear left window regulator is broken. Large gaps between front and rear windows (needs new rubber seals). Many imperfections in the paint. Has some rot in the rear of the trunk near the rear bumper. No heater. No a/c. Develops engine smell inside after driving a while. Speedometer doesn't work right (odometer works). OLD radio (rear speakers only) doesn't work very well.
This would be an excellent candidate for a complete restoration/hot rod OR leave it as is and enjoy driving it like I have.
