I bought the El Camino in 1999 Restored it in early 2000-2001, The El Camino was a small block SS when I got it, Replaced the 350 cu-in and TH-350 trans. with a 1972 402 cu-in big block TKB suffix was rebuilt, added early closed chamber heads, nice cam, HEI diss. stock Quadrajet carb and intake, Chrome oil pan, polished timing chain cover, Chrome valve covers. Has Aluminized Headers and 2.5" exhaust, Runs great and sounds good to. TH-400 Transmission. Has 12 Bolt posi. Rear End, new rear air shocks, Front Disc brakes. brakes are new front and rear. The paint and body work, was taken down to metal original paint color was silver, had some rust on back side of rear wheel openings was repaired, rest of the car was rust free. Metal cowl hood, Paint has some imperfection almost 20 year old, not perfect still very shiny. This was NOT a frame off restore tried to clean and detail under car as to look nice, has new chrome around top of bed, bumpers are very nice, new grille. Interior: new carpet, door panels, seat redone, Buckets with floor shift and console were in it when I got it was bench seat car from factory. Tilt steering column, Dash is very nice no cracks or extra holes. all guages work except the volt meter. factory AM/FM radio that works. new door rubbers, visors and headliner are original with two quarter size hole have new liner will need install. All glass good new windshield. The El Camino had a lot of chroming done before I bought it so all that chrome is older and has some pitting and age to it, don't know if show car earlier or last owner worked at chrome shop. Tailgate hinges and latches, inside bed plates, trans cross member, front control arms, disc brake hardware,steering links, front sway bar, heater boxes,core support, were all chrome when I got it and some showing it age all under car. front inner fenders were new and cut back to show the chrome suspension see pictures. do not know true mileage.
