Description

I purchased this very original Corvette two and a half years ago and I have really enjoyed driving and working on it, but I'm starting a new business and I will need to part with my dream car. This L46 model came from the factory as a four-speed manual with small block 350 and 350 horsepower and tons of options: Power steering, four wheel disc power brakes, power windows, soft-top convertible and air-conditioning, . The odometer reads 58,555 miles and while it is undocumented, this could be in all likelihood the original miles based on the originality of the car. Besides regular maintenance items, almost all of the original parts seem to remain and are in very good condition.
After thorough inspection the car has the original engine block, Muncie transmission, rear-end, Rochester Quadrajet carb and mostly everything else. It's rust-free and the body components are all in very good condition. The only items that I found that weren't original were the alternator and master cylinder (which I have replaced with a reproduction of the original). The car runs and drives great and only lacks a few finishing touches to make it almost perfect. All gauges are operational, as are most of all the other items on the car such as the turn signals, interior lights, vacuum-operated headlights and wipers.
Here's what it still needs:
* Interior clock needs to be replaced or rebuilt
* AM/FM Stereo is not operational (not sure if it's the radio or the speakers)
* Air-conditioning: Compressor turns but the system needs new hoses and condenser (general update is needed)
* Spare tire and wheel
* Paint appears to be original and looks great for it's age, but a repaint would be necessary to bring it to fully restored.
That's about it.
Now, here's what I have done since I purchased the car:
* New seat foam, covers and seat backs
* New Carpet with sound/heat barrier throughout inside cabin
* New driver side interior door panel (original had tear but is still available to repair and re-install)
* New door sill plates (I still have originals)
* Original radiator pulled and re-cored (car runs very cool even in Florida)
* Original water pump has been rebuilt
* New spark plugs and wires
* New more reliable ignition kit and capacitor (looks original and no more points to adjust)
* All new weatherstripping throughout: doors, hood, pillars, rear deck, convertible frame
* New engine bay vacuum hoses
* New actuators for headlights and wiper door
* New alternator
* New reproduction master cylinder
* New battery
* Newly rebuilt right front and rear brake calipers
* Newly rebuilt power steering cylinder and control valve (new hoses, as well)
* New shocks and several new bushings in front and rear
* Rebuilt original distributor with new tachometer drive gear
* Rebuilt original Rochester Quadrajet Carburetor
* New convertible top with original frame that was media blasted and powder coated
* New fan clutch and harmonic balancer
* New starter
I have also kept all of the original parts that were replaced and were original to car, if you desire to rebuild or repair and install later. All identification plates are in place and will identify the originality of the car. I have included photos of the engine block and transmission codes as well as the identification plate.
