Description

I have had the car 4 years. It has been sitting in the garage the entire time. I travel frequently and cannot continue to maintain it. This time home I replaced battery and the fuel pump. I only know the description of the car from when I bought it from prior owner:"This is a 1968 Camaro Convertible RS/SS 4 speed with Factory AC. I had it meticulously restored using its original parts, and where
that was not possible, mostly NOS parts were used. It is stored in a climate controlled garage as seen in one of the pictures and never
driven in rain, in order to keep it in great condition. The car is in its factory special order color of Lemans Blue (U). The paint is in great
shape as seen in the pictures. There are no replacement body panels. The convertible top was replaced a few years back when the rear
window became cloudy. All new carpet has been installed using factory correct color and style. Some of the many options that came with
this car are factory AC; this is rare to find from the factory with a 4 speed / SS car. The AC blows very cold because during the restoration
the system was charged with the R12 gas like from the factory not the new less effective R134. I also had a new condenser put in along
with all new lines and hoses. It also comes with the rare center console clock which was only ordered on a small percentage of the cars. It
still has the 4 original seat belts with date coded tags on them. All of the interior lights, knobs, handles, visors, etc. work as they should. I
had Retro Radio installed which is a replica of the original radio and looks the same however puts out much more power and has a digital
stations for better listening. The drive train was completely rebuilt using hardened valve seats to accommodate modern pump gas.
However, I still put ONLY 93 non-ethanol gas in it from a local station. I had its water pump, power steering pump, and compressor rebuilt.
Then I had them install a new brake booster & master cylinder. The car still has its original numbered carburetor, along with intake
manifold, exhaust manifolds, and 10 bolt Posi rear end. The block is dated 1970 and was a warranty replacement, according to the last
owner, along with the 4 speed transmission. The Rally Sport package was updated, and I had the old vacuum system replaced with more
reliable electric. With the AC, power breaks, and the car being a SS 350/295, the vacuum was already limited and many times the
headlight doors would not function properly. I have the window sticker from the prior owner proving all of the options came with the car.
Also the owners manual and convertible top manual are still with the car and go with its sale. This is a great car that has won several
awards at local Chevy shows."
Things I see that are wrong with the car: a crack in the dash board pad, one of the headlight covers doesn't work, (I should have that fixed), fuel pump leak, (will be fixed) two passenger floors were replaced, tail pipe support isn't correct. Doors shut a bit hard. I do not see any rust on the car. It obviously has had body work and new paint, but I don't see indications of an accident or putty. The seats are old and could be re-stuffed.
