Description

Up for auction is a 1955 Chevy 1st series truck with the 5 window cab, not too many of these made in 55. This truck was just way to cool with its many layers of paint and has way too much patina, character and history to restore so it was left on its original style chassis that has had some back in the day modifications like the gasser style front suspension, it has the original straight axle and leaf spring front suspension lifted on blocks, if you are looking for a smooth ride this is not the one for you, if you are looking for some old school character along with rust, crust, bumps, lumps and squeaks this is it.
The truck has a mild 454 big block engine and a TH400 HD automatic transmission, the steering column and original steering box has been moved over a couple inches to make room for the 454, it does NOT have power steering its just like it was back in the day. The 454 has a new Edelbrock AVS 650 thunder carburetor, Edelbrock electric fuel pump, HEI distributor, MSD plug wires, new original style radiator with built in trans cooler and electric fan. New tight fit hugger headers and duel exhaust and Red Hot mufflers.
The front brakes were upgraded to power disc with new calipers and rotors, brake lines, hoses, rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder and brake booster and a adjustable proportioning valve to the rear brakes. The rear end is a 8.5 GM 10 bolt with drum brakes. New front and rear shocks.
The glass is all original with the exception of the rear window which was replaced, windshield and corner glass have had new weather stripping installed, windows roll up and down easy, the interior has been repainted a few times over the years and still looks pretty good. A original style seat was put back in and has been recovered, also has new door panels and headliner inserts and a new floor shifter. The original gauges are still in the truck and the fuel gauge is hooked up and working and the original speedometer works as well. The fuel tank is a original style reproduction that mounts in its original position behind the seat. The cab floor has been patched up over the years but is solid.
The truck has a complete new wiring harness, headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, and gauge lights all work.
Has new wood in bed floor
Has a vintage pair of Fenton 15" slots on the back with a new set of 275/60/15 tires and a pair of American racing 5 spoke wheels and 195/65/15 tires up front. Clean clear title
