Description

Here at Streetside Classics, we recognize when some cars just have the look. It starts with having a solid car to work from, choosing the right colors & paint combination, giving the car a great stance and ensuring the rubber hits the road with the perfect wheel and tire combo. Sometimes it just all comes together right, and that's what you have here with this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS. Presented in a great color combination with a slick interior, this... handsome cruiser is just the thing for those Saturday night cruises and Sunday afternoons at the strip. Given that the cowl tag says this car was originally code H Green, I think it's safe to say changing the colors on this one was a smart idea. Now Ermine White with blue SS stripes and no vinyl top, it's a classic color combination that won't go out of style like the original combination obviously did. Fortunately, it has been applied over some straight bodywork, so the finished product will dazzle at any show you'll find. Good gaps make it look polished and well-assembled, and the finish has most definitely been color sanded and buffed to create an outstanding shine. The blacked-out upgraded RS grille includes hidden headlamps that function manually, and additions like the chin and deck lid spoilers give it a period-correct look that's as aggressive as the rumbling small block under the hood. All the chrome and stainless trim has been restored or replaced as well, including the bumpers and window surrounds, and it wears correct badges on the front fenders and grille. It's not perfect, but this is certainly an attention-grabbing Camaro. The interior uses black code-Z Strato buckets, an OEM iteration that complements the exterior finish wonderfully. Restored some time ago, it's holding up nicely thanks to quality materials and superior workmanship, as well as careful use since it was finished. With a thorough restoration, all the soft parts are very comfortable, including carpets, door panels, and headliner, and it's all in very good condition today. The interior also offers a sporty Grant steering wheel, and an easy-to-grab horseshoe shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic below, and a center console adorned with wood applique that's always a desirable upgrade. The only significant alterations from stock, besides the color, is a modern JVC AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit in the original location, a set of auxiliary gauges ahead of the shifter, and an Auto Meter tachometer strapped to the steering column. Out back the spacious trunk is lined with a nice-fitting mat with no secrets hiding underneath. Power comes from a 350 cubic inch small block, which has been topped with and Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor. The engine bay is clean, with the engine wearing a correct coat of Chevy Orange paint and it's nice to see a raised Edelbrock air cleaner and powder-coated finned valve covers, suggesting that all the details mattered in this build. Underneath it's solid and presentable, with a sturdy suspension, a TH350 3-speed transmission built with a 2,500 stall convertor to handle the power, and a 10-bolt out back. Long-tube headers dump into a dual exhaust system using Flowmaster-style mufflers, and the low rumble is absolutely fantastic. 15-inch Rally wheels fill the wheel wells with 205/70/15 blackwall radials that complete the sporty package. Admit it, this is the cruiser you've always dreamed of owning. Imagine pulling into your favorite car-guy hotspot behind the wheel of this rumbling Camaro-you can't deny that it has a ton of eyeball appeal. Call today!
