Description

Up for sale is a numbers matching 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS 396 c.i. / 350 h.p. big block.The original build sheet is included (see photo) verifying the authenticity of the car.Options ordered included L34 396 c.i./350 h.p., power steering and brakes (disc front & drums rear), and Posi-traction.

The SS is believed to be on its third owner who purchased the car 5 years and only 500 miles ago from the second owner who had the car for more than 20 years during which time it was repainted the original 79 79 Rally Green, the engine, Transmission, and rear differential were serviced and inspected.The body panels are believed to be all original.The car is straight and shows well.Some age is showing in the paint including small chip on passenger side rocker panel (see photo) and a ‘pin head’ size bubble on the lower right corner of the passenger door.Additionally, there are some irregular ‘pits’ showing up on the cowl which appear to be an age-related reaction with the paint.It is not known when the 1970-71 close ratio 4-speed was put in the Nova’s over its 50-year life.It could have been a warranty situation, but cannot be verified.

Records show the interior is believed to be original and not reupholstered.A small crack developed on the dash pad and the current owner bought a new one (included) but has not had time to install it.All of the interior gauges and lights work, but the radio does not.All the glass, chrome, rubber weather stripping, and trim are in good condition.

Records also show the current owner put new front-end parts and hoses throughout the car approximately 4 years ago.

The Mickey Thompson ‘red-line’ bias ply tires are only 6 years old and mounted on 14” stock wheels with ‘poverty’ hub caps.

The Nova is a multiple show winner, runs strong, and shifts smoothly with its Hurst Competition Plus shifter.
