Description

1977 Chevrolet Nova 5.0with independent rear end and alloy wheels

Less fat, more car. Price dropped again!

I bought this rare Nova Coupe in Georgia in 2003 and have put 16,500 miles on it. The three-on-the-tree is a fun little gearbox and it saves gas too. The car has a cushy ride, as I had the expensive Heidt rear end put in in 2009. We took down rear gear ratio from 2.73 to 2.5, put in a Flex-a-lite electric fan, a manual steering gear and put on four 15x5 Weld Prostar lightweight racing rims with Firestone 145 R 15 78S in front and Vredestein 185 HR 15 91H in rear. Even the spare is a Prostar wheel with a Vredestein tire.

This Nova is well maintained, has never been dented during my ownership and drives straight. It has a large but lightweight Grant wood steering wheel, custom dual exhausts, power disc brakes all around, Koni front adjustable shocks, factory a/c, factory window tint, factory AM-FM radio, great interior, new correct silver blue paint by second owner and weatherstripping. I built new wooden armrests inside the doors. Maintenance done by me includes new clutch, rebuilt gear box (transmission), new drive shaft, new rear gear, new springs and shocks all around, new ball joints, a/c maintenance, new starter motor, new master brake cylinder and brake booster, new rear speakers, decarboned manifold EGR ducts and more.

The Nova is suited to long high speed trips and gas mileage is up to 25 mpg. With its stock V8 engine it passes California smog check. You can sit three people in the front and it's registered for six.

I enclose original documents from the sale 1977 in Clifton, New Jersey, all shop manuals, worth gold if you work on cars, and many extras such as a perfect factory hydraulic steering gear, original steering wheel, factory mechanical cooling fan and five factory 14” steel wheels with spoke hubcaps as well as an extra carburetor.

This Nova will be a proud addition to any car collector's garage. The right buyer will fully enjoy "the beautiful 4th generation Nova".
