Description

1968 Chevelle SS 396, Genuine 138 car.
Original 396/350 H.P.Original Muncie M21 close ratio trans.Original 3.73 posi rear.Rare combination, as most 350 H.P. cars were automatic trans.
This Chevelle is a street-racing survivor from Queens, NY (think connecting highway area).
I’ve owned this car since 1979, always kept indoors.Engine and trans were rebuilt in 1982 and have less than 10K miles,Had a minor fender bender in 1984, then just put the car away.
Engine is .030 oversize bores, 11:1 forged pistons (too much for pump gas), forged crank, mild Comp Cams hydraulic cam, Clevite rod and main bearings, Cloyes double roller timing chain, Edelbrock Tarantula single plane intake manifold, Holley 750 double pumper.
Trans has new bearings and synchros, Hurst Competition Plus shifter, McLeod clutch, rear end is stock.
Front end was all redone – bushings, ball joints, tie rods, center link, idler arm.
Has original power front disc brakes and manual steering.
Car originally was Grotto Blue with black vinyl top and white interior.

Interior was fully removed. Interior shell was cleaned and deodorized - mice had ruined it. Rear seat frames stripped, cleaned and painted.
Comes with a cleaned ’69 interior and 2, non-correct bucket seats.
Car is currently wearing ’69 doors and fenders. Comes with 2 new GM NOS ’68 fenders and 2, ’68 doors, for parts.
It will need minor front floor pan patching, and some minor trunk floor pan patching at the fender well area.
The car is NOT rotted to death!
Many extra parts go with the car – bumpers, trim parts, etc.
