Black Chevy V8 Auto Classic Vintage Collector Receipts Barnes Custom Summit Hedm
Description
This 1978 Chevrolet Camaro takes exactly what you love about the 2nd gen car's sporty design, and now it upgrades the power, paint, transmission, and more to deliver the total package you've always wanted.
This was born a black Camaro, but you know Chevy never made it look this good. The resent professional respray gives you a modern clearcoat shine that's full of luster. And a car like this deserves this kind of sinister-style paint upgrade. After all, they also took the time to give this a large cowl induction metal hood, tinted windows, full-width Z/28 rear spoiler, and blackout rear panel to maximize the intimidation factor. And the modern US Mags 18-inch alloys really give this a nice stance, and at the same time, the ultra-wide rear ones remind you that there is some serious power meeting the pavement.
We love Camaros for houndstooth interiors, and this one really delivers. After all, you not only get that iconic look, but also the red interior looks like lava radiating from within the black exterior. There are some nice comfort features, like power windows and the AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input for your phone. But what you'll really love are the driver-oriented pieces. The wood-rimmed Grant sports steering wheel feels grippy in your hands, and it gives you a clear view of the full gauge panel, including the large speedo and tach. And that B&M shifter is the bright focal point of the whole interior.
Under the hood is a tidy motor that looks built for power. It's a 350 cubic-inch V8 built by Barnes Custom Engines out of California. It was a full performance construction that included the camshaft, lifters, rod bearings, and piston rings. Plus, you have go-fast goodies like a new Summit 600 CFM four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, cast aluminum valve covers, and Hedman headers. You even have the right supporting components, like an HEI ignition and a new aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is great for both its stout construction and overdrive comfort. This same mix of power and usability is seen in the upgrades like new springs, new shocks, and traction bars in the rear. Add in power steering and power brakes w/discs up front, and you have a well-balanced power package that's easy to enjoy.
Complete with build receipts, it takes some serious time and investment to get a fast and comfortable coupe like this custom Camaro. But you get to skip right to the fun of driving if you call today!
