1946 Chevy Work Truck / Rat Rod
Description
1946 Chevy Truck
350 Engine/ 350 Auto Transmission both with low mileage.
Mustang II front end
Was my father's truck so I don't know too much about it other than he was a wizard mechanic and the truck could (and did) drive anywhere. If you are in the Dallas area and in the car scene, you are most likely familiar with this truck and with my father. This truck has won numerous trophies and also did the famous Power Tour to Detroit and back without issue. Runs real nice; drives 75mph on the highway no problem. It has HEAT but no A/C. Exterior has a nice patina with clear coat on top. Couple places on the hood could use some attention but otherwise no rust. I believe it was a California truck originally. My father did a couple frame-off restorations that stayed in the garage, but this was his weekend driver. Mechanically it probably needs a new front driver-side shock in the near future but everything else is solid as far as I know. Made numerous trips to Austin and back (200 miles each way) with no problems. Cosmetically it is set up to look like a period correct work truck, but of course you can paint it or finish it however you like. In any case, I am confident the truck is mechanically sound and reliable. Its a real cool truck, you won't see another like it. I can't drive it down the street without people waving and honking.
If interested, I also have a spare front clip, a hood, and 2 front fenders that I will include with the auction. An extra $1000-1500 value. The two fenders aren't pictured but they are in good shape.
Clean TX title.
I acquired this truck through his estate and want it to go to someone who will appreciate it as much as he did. I have a baby on the way and no extra room as it is. Car is in Dallas area and available for inspection and test drive. That being said, serious inquiries only please. Feel free to contact me and I will answer any questions to the best of my abilities.I have the truck for sale locally and reserve the right to stop auction early if sold.
Thanks for looking.
Not sure what kind but the brakes are good.. Everything in drivetrain was updated so Im assuming same for the brakes. Has new double pumper Holley carb.. Not sure of rear end ratio but rpm comfortable level at highway speeds of 65mph. Aftermarket gauges installed and are in good working order. I dont believe speedometer works now that I think about it. I remember my dad used a GPS to check his speed (and his directions) .
