1980 Camaro Sport Coupe
Description
1980 sport coupe, from factory 305 4 speed saganaw trans, no ac,power windows or locks, 97,500 is the original miles on this car, i bought it from the original owner. i stripped it completly down to the shell and cleaned all dirt grease and rust from the under carriage and painted everything, replaced upper ball joints and all a frame bushings, original gears 308 and carrier replaced with 323 gears and posi unit.i pulled the original 305 and put it under the work bench.current motor is a 350 4bolt with 1970 camel hump 194 valve fuelly heads, holley 650 double pump mech secondaries, jegs 488 lift cam, holley street intake,1182 steel crank and 72 corvette o connect rods 20 over flat top pistons, i rehoned the block with fresh rings but i think it should be bored to 30 over, it has a faint piston slap when cold.i have driven this car for 1500.00 miles in the 4 years since being restored and has not got any louder. the trans is original and works well.I put the z28 package on the car, fenders spoilers and hood scoop, with working air induction. left rear quarter has been replaced with a full factory used quarter panel all the way to the roof line, the original owner stated that it was backed into 2 years after he bought the car and had it fixed at a local shop, there was lots of bondo and rust so i replaced it.i also replaced the lower rear valence below the rear bumper because of some rust, the floors and trunk are very nice. The interior has been cleaned and dyed the original camel color, the dashpad has 2 small areas that i repaired but are showing through again, and 1 small hole in the driver seat, got in the car with a scratch owl in my pocket, has new rug and headliner. The paint is arcrylic enamel, dupont centari, citris orange,i wet sanded and buffed it,has a few spots where i burned into the metallic, also never finished the final buffing, but still looks good and shines.the paint does have flaws and is not perfect, rear bumper will need repaint,i backed out of my garage and bumped into a frozen snow bank, also when installed the rear inner window trim i put the wrong lenght screw in and dimpled the roof as seen in the pics, The rims and tires are from an 86-87iroc 245-50-16,tires will pass inspection 4/32, rims are in good shape considering their age with some minor blemishes,no center caps, also put 1 inch spacers on rear to fill the offset on these rims.
