Description

Selling my Numbers Matching 1967 ChevroletChevelle SS 396. It is equipped with the original 396 motor with 350 HP (in '67 the majority came with 325 hp, some with 350 hp, and very few with 375 hp). It also has the original Muncie 4 Speed Transmission and factory 12 Bolt Posi rearend, it is equipped with 370 gears. The odometer shows 34,051, I believe it is 134,051 buterring on the side of caution. This car was is not a barn find but was methodically stored since 2005 until this spring, since October of 2005 until now it has less than 1000 miles on it. When it was decided to get it back on the street the fluids were changed, plugs, wires, and a brand new MSD Street Fighter HEI ignition were installed. New Auto Meter gauges were installed as well, Tachometer, Water Temperature, and Oil Pressure. The radiator was flushed as was the engine block, it was clean of corrosion and/or sediment but it would've been a gamble to run it without knowing for certain. As you can see it is Tuxedo Black with blackinterior. I believe the seats were recovered at one point because they are that nice. The carpet is slightly faded but in very good shape, no rips or tears. Thevinyl top is believed to be original with no tears or air bubbles, it is tight and looks right. The color was originally Mountain Green but was repainted approximately 13years ago, it looks very very good but it is not show quality. It retains all of its original body panels but was told the lower portion of the drivers quarter was replaced. The floors are solid and the trunk shows some wear but is original, you cannot shine a light through it does have minor pin holes in an area. The spots that are historicallyprone to rust are clean and straight (back window ledge and tray below windshield). It starts, idles, and drives straight down the road. Themanualtransmission shifts smoothly and the clutch has been adjusted and has plenty of life left in it. The power drum brakes perform better than I thought it might, I had a 1971Chevelle with the same set-up that did not. The factory gauges (oil fuel, speedo) work well. The stock tach located left of the speedo on the dash (which includes the built in left turn signal) is intermittent and the clock in the counsel does not. It has an older Chevroletcassette player that works fine but I prefer the sound of the Magna Flow exhaust. It does have have an aluminum 4 core radiator and a flex fan that keeps it cool. Over all this is a more than solid driver, it is not a number 1 condition car and ithasn't been subject to a rotisserie restoration but it is agreat car that can be enjoyed the way it is for a very long time. I realize its not perfect, if you would like to point out some things that I missed based on the pictures I will be happy to pass on the info. Simply put it is a true 138 numbers matching car that has a solid foundation and priced accordingly. I will respond to any emails or questions as promptly as possible but with 3 boys in youth sports truthfully it may take some time. Please have your funds available, I ask for agood faithnonrefundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours and cash or electronic fundswithin 7 days. If you are more comfortable with achairs check that is fine but I will not release the car without cleared funds. Thebuyer isresponsible for transporting the car but I willcertainly help with the details. Thank you for your time and good luck.
