Description

If you're looking for the perfect candidate for your next drive around town as-is truck or restoration project, look no further!
For your consideration is this wonderful find of a 1951 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 ton pickup truck, powered by a 1955 Thriftmaster 235 cubic inch motor, with the 12 volt conversion and electric fuel pump. It has the iconic 3 speed on the column manual shift transmission. I have owned this truck for 5 years and don't have a bad word to say about it. I bought it to drive around town in nice weather only and it has never let me down, my loss really is your gain. Engine has fired up first try every time, lights (besides dash) and turn signals work properly, stops on a dime thanks to the brand new master cylinder and never goes through town without every head turning! The only parts we have needed to replace in 5 years have been spark plugs and master cylinder. It has been garage kept and have never had any oil drips.
Body wise it will need restoration, there are spots that have been filled by the previous owner already (see detailed pictures) but our plan was to do a full restoration on it and just never got around to it. The frame of the truck is in beautiful condition, as are the floorboards. The interior is in nice shape, comfortable seat and indoor/outdoor carpet on the floors. Doors work properly but windows need new cranks. The gauges to my knowledge are original, I just couldn't tell you if they all work or not because half the wires are all cut underneath and we did not replace the wiring harness. The mileage is correct on the odometer.
I am only the 4th owner of this truck in all of its 65 years. The story I was told from the previous owner is that the man he purchased the truck from used it for farm work, which is why the bed is a short bed on a long bed frame. The farmer would put it in gear and toss hay in and out of the bed and stand on the platform between the bed and cab.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to get this wonderful truck for a project or to drive around town exactly as it sits, at a bargain of a price! They have only gone up in value like crazy the last few years and no indication of doing anything but continuing to do so!
