Description

Super Rare Mobile Director model 1968 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe. -- Only 55 ever made --

Designed for the busy executive who must continue his work while he travels. The Mobile Director also serves as an informal conference lounge in the Crown Coupe.

It features a reclining-back passenger seat that pivots 180 degrees to face the rear and a folding table that pivots to any of four different positions.

The table. supported by a sturdy chrome-plated pillar. can be pivoted to the right. to the left. and forward. In the forward position. it converts into a padded armrest between the two front seats. Extended. The table opens out to twice its original size. A lever on the table swivel support permits table height adjustments. A special tool is used for removing the table and storing it in the trunk.

Further description --

-A front passenger seat (bucket) that could rotate (swivel) 180 degrees around to face the rear seat.

-A folding wood-grained table that mounted on a large giant post (sort of looked like a chrome traffic light stanchion) on the driveshaft hump in the rear-seat foot-well area. The table is split so it folds in half lengthwise. and one half is fitted underneath with an upholstered pad that, when folded over, becomes a padded center armrest for the front seat. Also both front and rear seats can have slim. wood-grain tabletops running down the center of the car if you choose.

There were only 55 of this Rare Model Executive Mobile Director Imperials were produced in 1968. Only a very few are still around.

This is in restore-able condition. Both quarter panels are rusted through on the bottom.

I have owned this car since 1984 and it was used as a Summer driver for special occasions back then. It has deteriorated as one could expect from neglect just sitting in storage. It was stored in the garage for most of it's life and has been outside tarped since last Summer. The last time this automobile was on the road was in 2008. It was started and ran some for the next few years, but the engine has not been turned over for at least the last 8 years. As you can see from the photo's I have NOT cleaned this car up at all for the listing. All I did was pull back the tarps that have been covering it.
