1967 Chrysler 300 Convertible

If you are looking for class, then this 1967 Chrysler 300 Convertible is for you. The 300 was bought new in Lyons Kansas in1967 and hasspent its life inside either a garage or storage since purchased preservingits originality. With a little over 96K on the odometer this car was loved and enjoyed. It has spent the last 15yrs in the old Rickabaugh Dodge dealership in Lyons Kansas stored indoors and protected from the elements.

The white interior is original,and the car was equipped withthe floor shift console with tach. All the interior lights work, the trim does show some ageing but overall is in pretty good shape. The inside windshield trim still shines bright but is starting to show signs of pitting on the both uprights. The steering wheel and horn ringlook awesome,but it does have a few small cracks on the steering wheel. The front seats are in great shape, no rips or tears. They do show some minor signs of wear,but not what you would expect for a 51 year old car. The rear benchlooks great but one of the seamson thebottom section has dry rotted and has separatedfor about 6 inches.The carpet doesn't appear to show any signs ofwear or fading, I am not sure if itis original to the car, but it looks great. The interior is nice and usable just as it is.

The body on the 300 shows to be very straight andappears to beoriginal to the car. I am not aware of any body damage or previous wrecks, howeverthe last owner thought they needed a red convertible and had the car repainted.The factory color was copper. The repaint is average at best, anddoes look good from 10ftaway and would still make a good driver that someone would have fun with. Sometime in isstorage, someone was painting with white spray paint and itdoes have a little bit of white overspray on the hood. Nothing some wet sanding and buffing wouldn't cure.

The convertible top still works great (I can provide a video of it working upon request) and looks be in pretty decent shape. It would work fine for now, but is something that would need to be replaced at some time. The windows all go up and down with exception of the drivers side window. Some of the window switches on the drivers door do not work at all, but the individual buttons for the windows are still functional. The windshield is nice and clear, no cracks or chips. The back convertible window is still mostly clear and functional. In the pics I pulled the back seat out to show how nice the floors are under the seat.

I have had this car up on the lift and have not found any rust anywhere except for the inner quarters are showing some rust damage. Floors, inner and outer rockers, wheel wells, outer rear quarters, and front fenders are all solid.

The 300 does come with the 345H.P. 440 and 727 3spd auto transmission whichoriginal to the car. I have replaced plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor cap, valve cover gaskets, heater hoses, pulled the radiator and had it cleaned, fresh oil and filter, all vacuum lines and the master cylinder.Once warmed up, the motor runs great and trans. feels good.However, due to sitting, thevalves guides havebecome hard and once you let off the throttle the car does blow some smoke. Replace the valve guides and all should be good. Under regular acceleration everything seams to be good. It appears the car has had a valve cover leek for some time, the motor is dirty. A/C is complete but will need some work to be made functional, the tach does not work, the tach does not work at this time.

While on the lift, I noticed the sway bar bushings, tie rod boots and upper and lower A-Armbushings were dry rotted and will need to be replaced and he steering gear boxhad a pretty bad power steeringleak. There was a box of new bushings in the car, and I presume they are for the front end and will go with it. Tires appear to be nearly new by tread, but I am not sure of the date code and could be several years old.

Untilsome of the things listedabove are addressed I would notconsider this to be a cross country driver but if you wanted to keep it local and makea few local shows and cruise innswhile you are working on it, then it may be the car for you.
