Description

1967 Chrysler 300 Convertible 440 TNT Hi-Po V8

Strong Original Survivor, leather buckets, runs beautifully, loaded with options

This highly original 1967 Hi-Po 440 TNT Chrysler 300 Convertible was special ordered in 1966 and delivered to Normandin Chrysler-Plymouth in January 1967. The car lived in San Jose since new, before coming to Florida last year. Starts and runs beautifully. Drives great.

We believe this Chrysler 300 Convertible has had only two owners. The odometer shows 35,040 miles, which we believe to be accurate. The car’s condition easily supports this mileage.

There is little or no evidence of wear-and-tear from use. Interior wear, such as faded carpet, appears to be due to sun exposure. A new molded carpet kit is included.

Paint is 90% original, featuring OEM pin striping. This Chrysler 300 has lived in “rust free” areas its whole life. No bubbles, no evident rust repair, just broad expanses of mostly original paint. There is paint-and-body repair on the trailing edge of the driver’s door and jam. A shallow dent and low crease is confined to the passenger’s door skin. There is a shallow crease on the driver’s rear quarter and a surface scrape between the front bumper and the passenger’s front wheel. Body high points show over-buffing.

The motor is a stand out. Starts easily, runs well, provides gobs of power. From History of the Chrysler 440 (https://itstillruns.com/history-chrysler-440-8422071.html), “The 440 initially developed 350 horsepower and 480 foot-pounds of torque while equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, and had a 10-to-1 compression ratio. High-performance models from 1967 to 1970 got a horsepower boost, to 375.”

This Chrysler convertible starts easily, and drives with 1960s American power and comfort. The TorqueFlyte automatic transmission operates as it should.

The car is presentable and usable as-is, with outstanding originality. Alternatively, it’s a solid starting place for an easy project.
