1979 Chrysler LeBaron
Description
Here is a very clean example of late 70's Mopar cruiser. This car is an original Arizona car, with a 318 and factory 4 bbl "high altitude" engine which is running and driving. The windshield has a crack but does not leak, this is visible in the picture. The rest of the glass is good. No rust anywhere on this car, no evidence of accidents either, it tracks nice and straight down the road. The tires are in ok shape but old so I wouldn't recommend a long distance drive but test drives are fine. I recommend shipping or a trailer for any long distance purchase.
The original Carter TQ carb could use to be rebuilt as well, I think it would have decent power if the carb was rebuilt, as is it runs but is not spectacular in terms of performance. The trunk is in nice shape with all carpet in place. This is a very clean car for its age. The paint is in decent shape and would shine up very nicely. The car even has its spare full sized tire and bumper jack in place.
The interior is clean but worn, the upholstery is usable, better in the rear than the front but to be really nice it needs covers at least. The bezel under the steering wheel and the door for the ashtray are gone and the ignition switch works but you must push a button to start it. The wires hang down and are visible in the pic under the wheel. I was told the original owner, an older gent who has passed on, did this for security sake as he drove the car to Mexico frequently. I have not fixed it because it works as is. The factory radio is there but isn't working.
Several of the emblems are missing as well as the back up light lens in the bumper corners are also missing. The lights work as do the brake lights and headlights and blinkers. The speedometer just stopped working I believe its just the cable but I do not know for sure. The Clean AZ title has a B next to the mileage which indicates it is past mechanical limits, since this is a 79 it only has a five digit odometer.
All the fluids are ok the oil is fresh but there is a small coolant leak, maybe from the water pump, but I can't tell for sure. It doesn't do more than drip when you first start it. The alternator has been replaced as has the starter motor. Please call, text or email for additional pics, test drives or information. 520-227-5033
