Description

This was it. In 1965 if you could own one of these you definitely had arrived. You would be only one of about 600 people that could have got one and would have spent over 6500.00 dollars. Well over the price of a loaded hemi 'cuda and five years earlier! Power top, am/fm radio w reverb, power windows, tilt, power vent windows, cruise, climate control, 100 year old wood trim (in 1965...thats old), autoheadlight dimming, full dashgauges, four way power adjustable seats and the right front seat reclines!
"you tube" 1965 Imperial.
This car shows a believable 47k miles. The good news about this perfect restoration project is that you don't have to go looking for anything. With the exception of carpet and a battery, every piece of this car is here. Everything can be recovered, refinished, or polished up. It's born-with 413 is in place and untouched aside from new wires and plugs. 3 speed torqueflite 727 and 8-3/4 sure grip rear end compliment this impressive mopar drivetrain. There is not a lug nut, hub cap, trim piece, or anything missing from this car and still has it's original exhaust.
The paint on this car is original and the only corrosion on this car lies behind the rear wheels, very small finger-sized spots that would be about the easiest repairs you would find on a 60's mopar project. There is no missing trim, no bumper damage, the full frame is not rusty, has original undercoating and is as nice an undercarriage as you could find. The removal of the carpet years ago saved the floors which are amazingly solid. This car came from a dealer, meaning the gentleman that I acquired from was the mopar dealer back in the 60's and supplied me with original photos of his lot from back in the day. The car comes with an extra set of complete headlights, original owner and service manuals. I had to put the original spare down on the right rear as the right rear was flat.
I know I have talked this car up like it is a showroom creampuff. It isn't. It needs restoration. The seat material suffered from the weather, the convertible top is dilapidated, and it has been so long since it has run it won't start. The pieces and parts will need hand polishing, the wood needs to be refinished, it is going to take someone that knows what they are doing but realizes what this investment will be worth when done. I found two for sale online, one was over 40k and the other was over 60k. This would be a much easier restore than what folks are having to put into the popular b bodies these days. It rolls, stops and steers great and is an arrow straight body that never had damage. Clean clear Kansas title in my name, please bid responsibly. If you have questions I will do my best to answer. 913 two o eight 45 o eight. The reserve is set stupid cheap. I have been offered 1000 dollars for the plastic convertible top boot covers. Thanks for looking.
