Description

Two months ago, I posted my 1972 Datsun 240Z on eBay and the reserve was not met. At that time the windshield, side glass, rear window and wiring harness was not on the total list of items. I had the body professionally polished so please review the additional photographs, this baby shines! I also have a small can of touch up paint! You can touch up the scratches with perfect matching custom paint! Vehicle has been in covered storage for over 22 years. At that time, it was almost totally disassembled and painted. The exterior custom paint color looks black in the shade and has a slight purple reflection in the light (see additional photographs). The silver strips were done at the same time the body was painted. That means the clearcoat covers it all! Originally, I had wanted to have a professional add a simple red pinstripe around the silver. Then, I was going to purchase black seats with the matching red pinstripes. Body has some scratches and dings. Plates welded to cover door handles, the idea was to have remote door openers. Several new parts were purchased: Headers, muffler, exhaust system, ITG Foam air cleaner, clutch, pressure plate, bearings, camshaft, rubber door trim, brake booster, oil cooler, carpets, fuel cell and dash cover. A new headliner was installed. The Cannon manifold was polished (top only). The engine is not frozen and is attached to an engine stand (included in the price). The spare tire well was removed and a fuel cell was installed. There is minor surface rust on the fuel cell support because I had to park the Z outside for a couple of days and it had rained. The front engine/suspension support member has been powdered coated. Painted rear wing and front air dam also included.Steering rack and triple 40 DCOE Weber carburetors were rebuilt. The doors and hood are attached. The rear hatch is not.

Odometer indicates 08705 miles. Not sure if speedometer/odometer was replaced or if it has 108,705 miles. I drove it less than 100 miles before disassembly. Vehicle is in Chatsworth, CA. Bring a truck and flatbed trailer! You will need the truck bed to carry the engine, transmission, windshield, rear glass, side windows, front air dam and rear wing. Don’t forget to make a simple PVC pipe frame covered with thick insulation to hold all the glass! The remaining items fit in the vehicle. All the items will NOT fit in the vehicle for shipping. You will need to pick this one up yourself. Without the front suspension installed, most shippers will charge significantly more to haul this beautiful Z back to your place. It’s time for this Z to get a new home where it will be brought back to life on the road; where it belongs. Clean title, not salvaged. I simply do not have the time or garage space to properly rebuilt this classic Z. Sold as-is, no warranty or return.

It's very rare to find a 45 year old Datsun 240Z project car that has only minor rust with tons of potential. To see over two hundred photographs of the vehicle and parts, provide your email contact information. Don’t miss out! As you are aware, it is getting very difficult to find a solid early Datsun Z as good as this one. This one is being sold at NO RESERVE! Buy it now, fix it all up, take it to a few car shows and drive it for a couple of years. With your sweat and mechanical knowledge, you will be able to assembly it back together! The Z will be worth considerable more and you will be able to sell it at a wonderful profit! However, one you bring this beauty back to life, I have a feeling it will be very difficult to sell.
