Description
Up for sale is an early example of a Datsun 240Z shell, ready for your restoration project.
This is an early car being VIN 02675 made in March of 1970. The sale includes the numbers matching engine block (no head), The dash shell (no gauges or wires) with the original vin plate. The door jam and engine compartment plates are included as well.
The mileage is really exempt for these cars but the mileage indicated is for Ebays listing only. There was no speedometer in the car for accurate mileage.
Basically it comes with all three of the major components to rebuild a classic early Z which have been increasing in value in recent years. Yes there will be a lot of parts needed to finish this restoration off but the rewards will be worth it.
Overall the shell is in good shape for the year of the car, with some rust in the rockers and doglegs. The drivers side floorpan has some cracks behind the rear seat mount. There are some rust spots on the rear sill, and some spots around the windshield frame, I have some patch pieces for the windshield area. The Battery mount has some rust at the point where it contacts the firewall. See photos.
The previous owner had started to strip the paint for his restoration and lost interest. He ended up moving and had been parting out the rest of the car, when I picked it up.
The motor was apart when I got it, I have greased the journals and cylinders to prevent rusting. It does come with the original pistons and rods. Note, the engine stand is not included!!
The original 4 speed transmission is also part of the sale. It's condition is unknown as it was out of the car when I bought it.
The dash was also out of the car and gutted of all gauges and wiring, there are two large cracks on the top of the dash as shown in the picture. VIN plate is intact and in good shape.
The sale will include the original hood and front fenders, all of which have a few dents and some rust, but could be cleaned up as part of the restoration. (Not shown)
I have a clean Washington State title in my name ready to transfer ownership.
The car is sitting on the suspension from a parts car I had, so it can be rolled around and loaded on a trailer. These parts are not original to the car but will be included in the sale for ease of transport. The steering wheel is from a later year car as well, and is also part of the sale.
Please feel free to contact me through Ebay with any questions or requests for additional photos.
A $200.00 deposit is required within 48 hours of the end of the auction.
The car must be picked up within 7 days of the end of the auction, either by the buyer or their transport hire. All funding to be complete before release of car and title. Balance of cash can be paid at time of pick up. I am available in the afternoons for coordination with the pick up of the car.
The car is sold As is / Where is with no warranty or refunds offered.

On Aug-16-16 at 13:57:10 PDT, seller added the following information:Additional note : There are three sets of holes in the frame rails in the engine compartment. These are where the previous owner had mounted the shell on a rotisserie. They are about 3/8 inch holes through the rails. These should be easily welded back up with no significant detriment to the structure of car. Just a little more bodywork. one can be seen in the picture from the front angle on the right hand side. Again more pictures are available upon request.
