Car was purchased in the summer of 2012. All of the following parts were installed/changed since then:
1968 R16 engine (low mileage - gone over)
1968 4 speed transmission (all gaskets and seals replaced)
Champion aluminum 3 row radiator (new radiator cap, thermostat, hoses, using 67.5 fan shroud)
thermostat housing replaced with good unit
coolant reservoir replaced with good unit (new pressure relief cap)
Bosch battery (replaced last year, all new cables, connectors, ground strap)
Electronic distributor (EL Dizzy) with new cap, wires, NGK plugs
Painless fuse box
gear reduction "short" starter
water pump
fuel pump cleaned and rebuilt (running pre- and post- pump filters)
dual Weber DCOE 40 carbs (rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, floats) with K&N-type filters
Cannon intake manifold
stock size exhaust header (wrapped in "lava wrap"), flex pipe, custom 2" exhaust with Magnaflow muffler and custom "megaphone" tip
clutch slave cylinder replaced
clutch replaced with "heavy duty" 2000 unit (pressure plate / disc)
3/4 master cylinder rebuilt
rear aluminum finned drums painted and serviced, wheel cylinders replaced
front brakes converted to Z32 Nissan 300ZX 26mm calipers using Sprisomotorsports kit and Coleman racing rotors
Rota 15" Hyper Black wheels
Yokohama S-drive tires
KYB shocks at all four corners with rubber and polyurethane bushings
Mike Young front "competition" springs
Interior has: new black carpet, custom black door and trim panels, Fat Mat (Dynamat equivalent)
Corbeau Classic seats with seat heaters, Pioneer CD player with blue tooth, 4 speakers,
custom 1966 dash (additional gauge and toggle switch), Speedhut gauges with wiring harness GPS speedometer, wood grain dash plate cover, new black dash pad, Nardi steering wheel
Exterior has: many chrome parts replaced with very clean pieces
Car has some rust issues on body but I have clean front fenders for replacement included in the sale./
Car has some electrical issues since the dash was replaced (wipers not hooked up, fuel gauge not calibrated, some gauges not connected, head lights not connected)
Car does not have heater, throttle, and choke cables connected (interior restoration 90% finished) but starts right up with the Weber carbs
Exact mileage is unknown but I had to enter a mileage for the ad.
Car is almost 50 years old and is therefore sold AS IS with no warranty. Look at all pictures, and ask all questions BEFORE bidding.
***To answer some questions and add some info:
The rust issues - both of the front front fenders where they meet the body are rusted enough that the previous owner had wired tied them to the frame. This is a common rust area for these cars. HOWEVER, I have a pair of solid 67.5 replacement fenders to be included with the sale. Although the parking lights on the car currently were new replacements replaced within my ownership, I am including a pair of NEW Nissan parking lamps, as well as gaskets to go with the replacement fenders. The next major area is the passenger's side trunk well which has holes....driver's side is fully intact. There is one rust "bubble" covered with the paint you see on the driver's side of the trunk lid.
The hard top on the car does have the 67.5 latches and does latch to the car. The front seal of the top doesnt seal fully. I have TWO soft top frames, and one NEW black soft top (not mated to frame) that will also be included with the sale. One of the frames has latches to match. Both frames have not been fitted to the car. I am unsure if the new top will fit without some work...I do not see a hole to insert the rear bar to. A full set of soft top hardware will be included with the sale.
I am unsure of the offset of the Rota wheels. Anyone who knows these cars will tell you that each individual car is a bit particular as to which wheel offsets fit. These Rota wheels were bought off the ebay vendor who sells them. I originally bought one full set, and then had to return two to get a different offset. Obviously the ones on the car fit fine.
The rear shackles are "flipped" and that is why the rear is higher. Its a simple fix if you would prefer the lower rear (stock) look. The rear leaf springs ARE the stiffer springs from a 1966 Roadster. These are the most desirable rear springs as even racers will tell you the Competition leaf springs are considered too stiff.
When ALL 4 shocks were replaced, a combination of NEW rubber bushings and NEW urethane bushings were used.
Again, the car is almost 50 years old, the interior is 90% complete. It is sold AS IS with no warranty. Ask all questions BEFORE bidding.
