1924 Dodge brothers 116 Series Sedan
Description
Up for sale is a 1924 Dodge Brothers 116 Series Sedan. The vehicle was purchased at a charity auction about 5 years ago with the intent of a full restoration. However, other vehicles have taken priority over this and the restoration hasn't taken place. The vehicle runs, however the float bowl overflows and thus, the vehicle can't be driven more than just a few feet. The tires have great tread, but are old, and probably should be replaced. I am no expert on this car. I'm just a regular guy that would love to see history preserved. The car has been appraised a number of years ago, but I haven't had it appraised myself, this was from a previous owner, and it has been quite some time since that has taken place. I've included a picture of the appraisal. I don't claim the condition is exactly the same as then, but it will give you an idea of the car overall. It has NOT been driven since delivery of the car when it was purchased. It has been stored in a garage in Southern Nevada the entire time. This would make a great museum display or a actual driver. The engine sounds good, runs well, and didn't leak when I started it. Fuel tank could use some cleaning. I took the old fuel out of it, soaked it with vinegar for a few days and flushed it out, but would suggest a far better cleaning to get any garbage out of the tank. The sight glass in the tank is pretty clear and in good shape, as is the petcock on the bottom. This car uses a 12 volt battery and I assume has been converted to 12 volt, since I believe it was a stock 6 volt system. Seats are really good, near perfect to perfect condition. Floor is carpet over wood. Wood is 8.5 out of 10, carpet is good. Again, I don't know a lot about this car. If you have questions, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to answer. I hate to see this vehicle go, but a Ford model A is waiting for the space it sits in. So it has to go. Buyer will arrange shipping from my location. I will assist in loading if I am available when that time comes. I do have a number of documents the will go with the car when sold. A deposit of $500 is required at auction end. This is NON refundable. Payment in full at time of pickup. Pickup is required within 14 days of auction.
