For Sale is our extremely rare 1990 Dodge Dakota Convertible, and yes...if you are not familiar with these, Dodge made them as factory made convertibles for only 3 years. Those who are familiar with these trucks know these are extremely rare to come across, especially in ready to enjoy condition. It is an Automatic, 3.9 V6, A/C, 2wd, Cruise, power windows, factory bucket seats. This has been "in the family" for over ten years and for the past 100k miles. It has 177k on it now and these past 100k miles have been easy highway miles up and down the highway 35 miles each way driven by a now retired gentleman who commuted to work in it on sunny days. It has been in South Carolina for the past ten years and we bought it in Texas. I believe I am the third owner. The truck was repainted once about ten years ago and although it has a few touched up spots and a few little dings and signs of wear and tear, it still looks great. I recently removed the decals because they were looking so dirty, and the truck shines so nice. Over the years it has had services as needed. New brakes, rotors and pads, last fall along with new plugs, wires, filter and fluid service, new headlights and signals lenses. I probably have three or four grand worth of receipts from the last year or so. Everything works and the truck runs smooth and strong. She is daily driver dependable, even the cruise control works. The top was replaced about 7 years ago, but it has been stored mostly under cover so the top is in great shape. The only thing I have not serviced recently is the A/C, but it has factory air conditioning. This is a 30 year old truck that has been a driver so it is not perfect by any means, it has general wear, a few bumps and bruises, and these 3.9 engines always seem to have a few little leaks here and there.
I have nothing to hide, but the truck is a little tough to describe because as you can see in the pictures, she looks fantastic, but she is an old Dakota, and it has NOT been restored, it is just a fun original rare truck that you can enjoy now as is or do a few improvements if you like......so ask me anything you like, but here are a few notes....Interior is in fair shape, driver seat has some wear and tear, some of the interior plastic has some fading, several marks on the fabric, and the carpet is a bit faded and worn, but the interior is totally intact and is decent over all. The rear bumper is a little dinged up, and the power door locks can be temperamental. This truck has never been " off the road and just sitting, it has been consistently registered, insured, driven, and enjoyed on sunny days.I have had the pleasure of owning a few of these trucks over the years, and I am pretty familiar, and the only reason I am letting this one go is that I got extremely lucky and found another Dakota convertible that is a super low mile show truck, and I had to have it.... LOL
